Dealing With God's "NO"Sample

Dealing With God's "NO"

DAY 1 OF 3

Because I Said So

Prayer is one of the best ways to communicate with God. It is a measure in which we can petition God to move throughout the many situations we encounter in life. Prayer can literally change things. I’ll be the first to admit that praying consistently is challenging. Especially when you have been praying for the same thing over and over and it seems like God is not responding.

It’s almost like growing up with parents who did not give you an answer when you asked for something or flat out said “no.” If your childhood was anything like mine everytime I asked why I could not do or have something the response was usually “because I said so.”

Sometimes prayer can feel like this. You ask God for a new job, to increase your finances, to be married, or for healing and yet nothing changes and you are left wondering why. Let me clear the air, God is not required to answer our prayers with a yes. He is similar to my parents in the sense that he is not obligated to give us an explanation for the decisions he makes.

However, God is loving, gentle, and intentional. He has proven himself trust worthy time and time again. So we must begin to change our attitude towards the role God and prayer has in our lives. Prayer is not only a time to petition to God but it is a time to pay attention to God.

Pray this prayer:

God, help me to fully trust your judgement even when I do not understand the reason. I believe that you will cause all things to work for my good. Thank you for the times you answered my prayers with a "no." Although I cannot yet see it, I know that you will bless me with something far greater than what I thought I wanted. Amen.

Day 2

About this Plan

Dealing With God's "NO"

“No” is not the easiest thing to hear when you were expecting to hear “Yes.” In this plan, you will learn to change your perspective on when God’s response to your prayer is “No.” This plan will help you discover that God's "no" was by design.
