Matthew 5 ends with a statement from Jesus that is both incredibly clear and incredibly nerve-wracking: “You therefore must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.” (Matthew 5:48 ESV) Wait… what? If perfection is the standard, then we may as well quit now, right? 
Prayerfully, as we study Jesus’ words in Matthew 5:17-48, we will see how understanding His perfection helps us live lives that, though imperfect, stand out from the world and point other broken people to Him!

We have already reflected on how we should pray and we have already talked about the Lord's demands. Now, let’s talk about the Servant’s Petitions. The first part of the Lord’s Prayer focuses on the Lord God. In the second part, beginning with "give us this day our daily bread," the prayer takes a turn and begins to address topics such as hunger, evil, temptation, and other issues. 4 - LORD'S PRAYER - the Servant's Petitions

The well-known Lord's Prayer, taught by Jesus to his disciples, can be divided, for study purposes, into two parts.
