Playing Through the Pain: Growing in Darkness
As a young father of two precious children he lost his wife to a brain aneurysm. At that point he had to learn to stand on his knees. Tommie Harris Jr. was a chubby kid, a high school athlete, a college football All-American and an NFL star. He learned to play through the pain at every level. This plan is the first of five in the series.
94x50: Discipleship on the Court
Welcome to 94x50: Discipleship on the Court, a five-part devotional series exploring the connection between basketball and the call to make disciples. Like basketball, discipleship requires teamwork, skill development, and adherence to principles. The court transforms into a space for spiritual growth and fellowship, where players grow in faith and character. This series highlights how the fundamentals of basketball mirror key aspects of the Christian walk. Join us as we delve into these powerful parallels and discover how the game we love can inspire us to live out our faith.
Playing On God's Team
Maybe you have been told that you’re one of the most dedicated players on the team. Or maybe that is what you want to be. When it comes to your dedication to God’s team—the one that matters most—what kind of player would Jesus say you are? Just as an athlete is recruited to play a sport, Jesus recruits you to play in the spiritual game of life. Standards that make a good athlete include strength, confidence, and hard work. What about God’s standards? We can use God’s Word to evaluate the way we choose to live. Every effective team works toward a common goal. The purpose of this Bible study and devotional is to help encourage, inspire, and build committed Christian athletes who desire to consistently follow Christ’s game plan. No more “game-day-only” athletes. Playing on God’s team is about being an everyday follower of Jesus, on and off the field, in and out of season!
The Marriage Game Plan
To have a thriving and successful marriage that stands the test of time, we need to understand why God designed marriage in the first place. To find that out, we must go back to the owner’s manual on marriage, the Bible, for help. This devotional looks at four reasons why God created marriage—and how following His playbook in your marriage can make all the difference.
Pursue Daily Meetings
When you pursue your goals in sports, what are you trying to achieve? Your sacrifice and passion pave the way to accomplish your goals. God does the same for you. He pursues you, loves, and accepts you completely. Success is no longer defined by your skills. You have a new purpose when you play. In this 8-day plan, pursue truth, life, team, and mission to strengthen your relationship with Christ.
FCA: The Undefeated Devotional For Competitors
Win or lose, God is always Undefeated. The FCA Undefeated Devotional deals with issues that coaches and athletes face on and off the arena of competition. This 31-day plan will also help establish a consistent, daily quiet time with God, and includes extra readings and suggested prayer for competitors regardless of sport. We would like to thank the Fellowship of Christian Athletes for providing this plan.
Greater Meetings
HOW TO USE THE GREATER MEETINGS: These four topics were designed to fit together for a complete message. It’s not recommended to skip any of the topics completely. If you need to cover the contents in fewer than four meeting times, you may decide to focus a bit more on one or two topics while hitting the highlights in the others. The theme for this year is GREATER. We play with a new purpose: He must become Greater, and we must become less.
Running With Vision: Mindset
Our minds are the most powerful, or harmful, tools we have. What’s your mindset look like on a daily basis? These are lessons from a runner, but not just for runners. Whatever season of life you’re in, these lessons can help you look at things through a different perspective.
EVERY
The EVERY FCA Devotional features a 31-day reading plan to help coaches and athletes develop a habit of reading the Bible daily and applying it to their lives. For a moment each day, we can dig deep into God's Word and pursue a relationship with Jesus Christ and His Kingdom.
