The Indwelling Christ
Ephesians 3:16-17
“I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith…”
Why do we need the power of the Holy Spirit in our lives, by faith, for Christ to dwell within us?
The presence of Jesus is not an intellectual theory or a propositional statement, but rather, it is the living presence of a Person who displaces any other resident power within us. The indwelling reality of Jesus in our lives changes everything. He gives us new desires, new vision, new strength, new hope, peace and love. If this transformation is not our experience, we must seriously question whether Jesus lives within us, or whether we have accepted the idea of Jesus rather than surrendered to his person.
Lord Jesus, you are my Lord and leader. I submit to your Spirit’s work and presence this day, for your glory.
