DAY 4 - EMBRACING THE PROCESS OF TRANSFORMATION

A butterfly is one of the most exquisite creatures on earth. Their delicate nature as well as the vivid vibrancy of their wings are breathtaking. When we think of the process of becoming a butterfly though, no one would describe it as beautiful, it's brutal. It could also be described as messy, hidden and painful. It requires deep surrender. The caterpillar dies to what was. The chrysalis is both a tomb and a womb. The old dies, to give birth to the new.

Every believer will walk through multiple processes of transformation as we mature into the image of Christ. Moses himself went through a transformation process of his own and walked with a different level of humility and power because of it. So did the nation of Israel as they left Israel to embark on the journey to the promised land. More often than not, this is also a timely process. We prefer the little shortcuts life have to offer. Nothing wrong with that, just not the way kingdom works.

Exodus 13:17-18 (ESV) has a fascinating thought - 'When Pharaoh let the people go, God did not lead them by the way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near. For God said, "Lest the people change their minds when they see war and return to Egypt." But God led the people around by the way of the wilderness toward the Red Sea. And the people of Israel went up out of the land of Egypt equipped for battle.'

Every transformation includes a preparation. God prepares those He calls to navigate the new. He isn't careless with your training. He knows you. He knows your abilities and your fears. He knows your potential and your excuses. He is deeply intentional in ensuring that you become the person, ready for the promise He's given to you. The process of being transformed brings new focus and clarity to the promise of the promised land you've been given.

* How are you partnering with that process?

Let's pray together -

Father God, thank you for being so intentional with my life. Thank you for finishing what you started in me. I lay down my own life in deep surrender today. Help me partner with your processes more deeply than ever before. Amen.
