What we think about when we think about God is one of the most important things about us. It affects us more than we probably even realize. For a lot of us, we tend to think God is distant, unrelatable, mad, or disappointed in us. But according to this verse in Hebrews, God isn’t any of those things. In fact, this verse suggests He’s far better than we could possibly imagine. Why? Because He gets what we’re going through. That makes Him closer to us than we realize and relatable in ways we may have never thought of before. Because of that, God is able to empathize with our struggles.

That’s great news, right? It means that there is nothing you’ll experience or feel that God won’t understand. When you feel overwhelmed by temptations or struggles, you can be comforted simply by knowing that Jesus has felt that way, too. This week, memorize this verse and let it be a reminder that God truly understands what you’re going through.
