You can connect with God through Expression!
Expression is feeling close to God when you are creating–whether it is through writing, painting, playing, dancing, etc.
Hebrew: בָּרָא (bara) = To create; bring into existence.
Hebrew: מְלָאכָה (melakah) = Workmanship; craftsmanship; skilled creative labor.
Bara (בָּרָא): God creates.

Melakah (מְלָאכָה): Humans create with Him.
Creativity is not secular by nature—creativity originated in God.
Expression without surrender always becomes self-glorification.
They were filled with rebellion!

At Babel: Humanity tried to ascend to Heaven.

At Pentecost: Heaven descended to humanity.
When there is nothing higher than self-expression, expression eventually becomes corruption.
Pentecost begins the redemption of what Babel fractured.
At Babel, humanity used language to glorify themselves.

At Pentecost, the Holy Spirit took hold of human language and used it to glorify God.
Two Expressions of Tongues in the Bible
1. Speaking in an unknown human language to communicate with people
2. Speaking in a spiritual prayer language to communicate with God
Tongues are Spirit-empowered speech that help believers commune with God and strengthen their spirits.
Simple Definition: Tongues are a heavenly language given by the Holy Spirit.
The goal is not merely to speak in tongues—the goal is to encounter God.
Question:
Are tongues for everyone?
Jesus did not present tongues as something strange for the spiritual elite.

He presented them as part of Spirit-filled Christianity.
Practical Advice:
1. Pray in the Spirit daily
2. Worship privately
3. Write/journal creatively before God
The Church has lost its hunger for encountering God!
We have turned worship into the pursuit of “artistry” and not presence!
Correction:
The Holy Spirit isn’t weird—people are weird!
Abuse does not eliminate biblical truth.

Expression is meant to glorify God.
The Holy Spirit did not come to glorify people.

The Holy Spirit came to glorify Jesus.
Babel:
“Look what we built.”

Pentecost:
“Look what God has done.”
When you’ve truly encountered God, expression becomes difficult to suppress.
The baptism of the Holy Spirit is not about spiritual elitism.
God did not merely save you from sin. He wants to fill you with His Spirit.
The Holy Spirit wants to redeem your expression and fill it with fire again.
