The world cannot see, even though the symbols have been there, they cannot understand. The Holy Spirit is not just a symbol - The Holy Spirit is a person
We need to ask ourselves - Have I limited the person of the Holy Spirit in my life?
The promise of the Holy Spirit was a promise that even though Jesus would not be with us bodily anymore he would now be with us spiritually - through His Spirit.

These symbols just represent an aspect of His nature and purpose that we need to understand. Today I want to look at The DOVE - Present in all 4 gospels
As the dove descended it was a powerful picture and symbol to both remind and foreshadow.
The dove represented the coming of a NEW ERA.
God destroyed the world because of sin, there was no place for His spirit to rest that was holy the people were wicked. Look at the picture similarities of the flood and the baptism of Jesus

- In John’s account of the baptism we read - The Holy Spirit descended and remained. Didn’t ascend back to heaven, but stayed in this new world and a new era

- Nothing was the same after that moment - Just like the flood changed history - The coming of Jesus changed History - Changed timelines - Changed what remained on earth

- The Holy Spirit doesn’t just REST ON us anymore, He REMAINS IN us.

- This era not only represented that a new Kingdom had come through what Jesus did on the cross, but this Kingdom would be empowered by the work of the Holy Spirit.

When the Holy Spirit descends on you like a dove…you begin to live differently. You begin to proclaim boldly. You begin to demonstrate the power of this Kingdom in this life.
The world's peace doesn’t stay. It’s temporary. My peace is from My Spirit…

The Holy Spirit ushered in a new era of peace - Not just peace externally, but peace internally.

Just like when the dove returned to the ark with an olive branch…it was a sign of peace. When the Holy Spirit descended and remained it was a symbol that peace is here to remain.
The dove represented the coming of NEW CREATION

Genesis 1
Darkness covered deep
Spirit hovered over water
Let the earth bring forth life
The world formed by spoken word
Light began creation

John 1
Darkness covered hearts
Spirit hovers over waters of baptism
In Him was life - That life was the light of men
The Living Word steps into the world He created
THE Light begins new creation
The Holy Spirit only descends on a willing vessel. On a person who has already submitted his their life to Jesus - Doesn’t reside where He isn’t wanted.

The Holy Spirit will descend, and remain, wherever invite Him into
