TALK IT OVER
Start talking.
• When you hear the word risk, what comes to mind?
• Are you naturally more of a risk-taker or someone who plays it safe? Why?
• Have you ever missed an opportunity because of fear?
Start thinking:
• In this parable, what stands out most about the master and how he entrusts his servants?
• Why do you think the first two servants were willing to take risks while the third played it safe?
• The third servant wasn’t irresponsible—he was cautious. Why wasn’t “playing it safe” good enough?
• How does this parable connect to Jesus’ teaching about being ready for His return?
• What role does our view of God play in how we live and act?
Start Sharing:
• What do you believe God has entrusted to you (time, relationships, resources, the gospel itself)?
• Where in your life are you tempted to “bury” what God has given you instead of using it?
• Have you ever taken a step of faith that felt risky? What happened?
• Do you tend to relate more to the first two servants or the third? Why?
Start Praying:
• Ask God to reveal any fear that is holding you back from trusting Him fully.
• Thank Him for the incredible treasure He has entrusted to you through the gospel.
• Pray for courage to live boldly and faithfully as you wait for Christ’s return.
• Ask God to deepen your trust in His character and generosity.
Start Doing. Commit to a step and live it out this week
• Identify one area this week where you can step out in faith instead of playing it safe.
• Share the gospel (in word or action) with at least one person this week.
Invest intentionally in something God has entrusted to you (a relationship, opportunity, or resource).
• Reflect daily on who God is — and let that shape how you live and take risks for Him.
