Prophets and Promises - The Promise of Peace
In 2 Corinthians 1:20, Paul writes, “For no matter how many promises God has made, they are ‘Yes’ in Christ.” This season invites us to listen to the voices of the prophets—Isaiah, Micah, Zephaniah, and others who point to the divine promises of Jesus. During Advent we celebrate God’s next “yes” – his fulfilled promises in each of our lives.

Our longing for peace is not a sign of weakness; it is a sign that we were created for God.
The prophets did not promise peace simply as a feeling…but as a person.
Peace begins when the barrier of sin is broken.
Peace is not the absence of trouble; it is the presence of Christ.
Peace is God’s “YES” in Christ for our restless minds, our anxious hearts, our strained relationships, and our wounded souls.
