What do you think about the idea of being "under the influence of the Holy Spirit"? How have you seen people seek to find power and life by being under the influence of substances that promise what they cannot deliver?

Read Romans 8:11 again. What does it make you think or feel when you read that this is the sort of power we have available to us by the indwelling of the Spirit?

Paul writes that the Spirit empowers us to grasp the dimensions of God's love. Do you think believers can sometimes struggle to adequately understand His love? Have you ever struggled with this?

Read Acts 4:7-13 again. What sort of encouragement is to be found in the fact that the Holy Spirit gives us a boldness to be Christ's witnesses in the world? Have you ever experienced the Spirit's help in sharing with others about Jesus?

Read Romans 15:13 again. Have you experienced the ability to have hope by the power of the Spirit, even when it didn't come easily? If yes, what was that like?

Personal Reflection: Think, have I been trusting in anything other than the Holy Spirit's power to walk out my Christian life? Have I filled my life with the sort of unhealthy things that compromise my ability to be filled by the Holy Spirit in some way?
