Cultivating Prayer- Church

Join us in this prayer. “Lord, I lift up our children’s ministries to You. Create an atmosphere here that encourages our children to find You. Let the teachers be careful to remind each child of the marvelous things You have done. Cause everything they learn about You to become a part of them forever. Keep them walking in Your truth.” (Prov. 22:6; 3 John 1:4)
I will honor the Lord’s day.
A.W. Tozer

“God has not bowed to our nervous haste nor embraced the methods of our machine age. The man who would know God must give time to Him.”
Dr. Don Carson

“Everyone, including Jesus (Mark 6:31) would agree that human beings need rest; but that observation must not be used to introduce the notion
that the mosaic Sabbath was therefore 'moral' law, unless one is prepared on similar grounds to draw the same conclusion from all demonstrably useful laws in the Old Testament.”
Why do we worship on Sunday?

1. Jesus rose from the dead on the first day of the week – fulfilling the law and bringing life to all.
2. Jesus met with the disciples on the first day of the week following his resurrection.
3. Jesus commissioned the disciples on the first day of the week (Jn. 20:21).
4. The Holy Spirit was given to the disciples on the first day of the week at that same meeting.
5. That means that the day of the Pentecost was on a Sunday when the first church was born.
6. The early church met regularly for worship on the first day of the week (Acts 20:7).
7. The apostle Paul told the believers to set aside their tithes and offerings on the first day of the week. (1 Corinthians. 16:2)
8. The apostle John recognizes “the Lord’s Day” in Revelation 1:10 as the day on which he received his vision of heaven and the end times.
