When God makes a promise – He keeps it.
He is not just the promise maker – He is the promise keeper.
God doesn't make promises to get us to love Him. He makes and keeps His promises because He loves us.
Our strength will fail – it will not sustain us through the hardest and darkest times.
Trusting in anything but the Lord will cause us to collapse and fall.
Even when burdened or beaten down, trusting in the Lord will uphold and sustain us.
God is the Rock. He is great. He is perfect. God does not change.
Numbers 23:19 says that God is not fickle and does not change His mind. It says that when He speaks He will act, and when He promises, He will fulfill.
Malachi 3:6 tells us that God does not change.
Hebrews 13:8 tells us that Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
James 1:17 says that He does not change as the shifting shadows do.
God’s eternal and unchanging nature give us reason to trust in Him and His word.
God’s word proves trued. His word will come to fruition, His promises will be kept and fulfilled.
God is the Rock and foundation we build our faith on. God is unchanging. He is unmoving and unmovable. He is constant – eternal. He is sure. He is secure.
Because the Lord is God, He alone controls time. He alone controls the earth. He alone sits with all of eternity in full view. He has the power to make promises, because He has already secured and established the way, place, method, process, and timing for their fulfillment.
Not a single word of the things God promised has failed. It has ALL come to pass.
We can’t forget all God has done for us in the past.
We must acknowledge how our current circumstances are meant to draw us to the Lord because He is our Rock and refuge.
We must acknowledge how all He has done before gives us hope for the future.
If God promised it – He will do it.
Ezekiel 12:28 says God’s word won’t be delayed, and the words He speaks will be performed.
Psalm 33:4 tells us that God’s word is upright and done in faithfulness
Jeremiah 1:12 reminds us that God watches over His word to perform it
God will uphold us.
God is the one who holds us up and sustains us through the trials of this life.
In holding us up, in sustaining us, God is ordering our steps. He is in control.
God will fight for us.
Isaiah 54:17 tells us no weapon formed against us will prosper.
When we are still we will see God’s power on display and therefore know He is God. We must stop trying to control and fight for ourselves.
We are not alone.
Refusing to leave us alone is part of God’s nature and character. It is part of how He has always loved us.
Whatever circumstance you are in – if God has led you there – you need to trust His lead. He is going in before you.
God takes our burdens.
Jesus wants us to give Him the burden of our sin.
Even though following Christ is still a burden, it is one that brings change and transformation. Jesus tells us that this burden is light because when we make Him our refuge we find rest.
Are you walking in the rest that can only be found in Jesus today? If not – what is holding you back? Is it because you’re trying to carry your burden alone? Is it because you’re not letting Jesus go before you – you’re not following His lead?
We won’t grow weary or lose heart when we fix our eyes on Christ and cast off every sin that entangles us and weight that slows us down.

Worship through giving

Scripture tells us that the things we spend our money on reveal what is in our heart (Matthew 6:21). We believe that cheerful and sacrificial giving of our finances to the work of the local church is one of the deepest expressions of worship that we can offer and shows that we truly want to love as Jesus loved.
