We assume that doing all the right things in life lead to a pain free life.

If we devote our whole life to doing right and end up getting mistreated or end up with some kind of unfair consequence, we get angry…because we assumed that doing right means we don’t deserve to suffer.

If God is in control of everything and we’ve done “everything right” but still have bad circumstances happen to us, then HE must be cruel, but what if we’re putting something on God that He never promised us?

As we look through the scriptures, we see that fairness was never part of the agreement.

If we are not guaranteed that our pain will be reduced if we obey God, then why do good at all?

First of all, because God is not indifferent to our pain

Second of all, we should continue to do the work of God because we are the one’s He chose to help put it all back together again

We are to lift up, repair, restore, and set free…and none of this guarantees freedom from pain or suffering.

When God called us to this life, He also equipped us with one another.

The church is a group of people on the same journey.

-We were never given a guarantee that doing right would result in an absence of pain.
-God is not indifferent to our suffering.
-We are called to carry each other’s burdens
