God's Goodness Prevails
What is the hope that we have that makes us bold? It is the understanding that the new covenant that we have with God through Christ is one of greater freedom and glory. It is that Christ has offered us a place in the glory and goodness of our Father. He has made a way for us!

Joy is our annual women's conference where we journey together into what God has called us to do. Just as Iron sharpens iron we strengthen each other with fellowship, encouragement and teaching of the word. Join us this year for Joy 2016: Fearless.
What is this hope? The Greek word elpis is used here for hope. 1680 elpís (from elpō, "to anticipate, welcome") – properly, expectation of what is sure (certain); hope.
Hope is an expectation of what is sure and certain. It is the complete confidence that our God is good! Hope assures us that God will be glorified and that His goodness will prevail. Hope is a force that drives us on to believe that things can and will be different and dare I say even better.
Hope is the confident expectation that our Father's goodness prevails.
Hope is not a wish that something would happen. Hope is not a dream for something better. Hope is filled with confidence. Hope is an active force driving us forward knowing that our God reigns, wins, and will be always be victorious!

Hope should make us bold knowing that if God is for us, who can be against us.
Our hope is based on the fact that the glory and goodness of the new covenant exceeds that of the old. The old had glory that faded but we live now in a covenant of ever increasing glory and goodness! At VC2 we preach a hope-filled gospel–that there is hope for everyone who will call on the name of the Lord for salvation. We are saved by a God who is described as a God of hope. He is not a God of wishes, He is a God of Grace and Glory!

God is the the God of hope. He is not the God of wishes, but is a good Father who always does what is just and right. The gospel is the good news of Fathers love for us. It is the understanding that God is for us and not against us. It is the good news of a loving Father who ran toward us, not away from us. It is the goodness of a Holy God who poured out His wrath on His only begotten Son, in order to bring many sons to glory! It is about a Savior who made a way!
The gospel is filled with hope for us all! It is the good news of the Father's love!
And the power of the Holy Spirit can cause us to abound or overflow with hope. Remember hope is not a wish! Hope is confidence in the goodness of God. It is the confident expectation that God is always good and that His goodness prevails!

This scripture is big for those of us focused on the hope-filled gospel. This rich salvation that has filled us with hope causes us to be very bold in believing that Father's goodness will prevail no matter what happens in this world. We believe that the Great Creator can still use us, His creation, to accomplish His will on the earth. We have a hope that is based on what He has done, what He can do, and what He desires to do and not based on us or our abilities. This hope produces in us a boldness that some may confuse as arrogance. It is not.
We must own the understanding that hope is not something we are longer for. Hope is here! Hope is alive inside of us! We must understand fully that Hope is not a wish inside of us but it is a confidence in us that God's goodness prevails! We have this hope...we are not trying to have it or trying to work it up. WE HAVE THIS HOPE!

We are ministers with unveiled faces that shine with a hope and glory that does not fade!
We have a hope of increasing glory, not fading. The old faded, the new increases. This is the hope we have–that we are going from one degree of glory to another. We are not fighting to have hope, but we are filled with a living hope!
What is Holy Spirit saying to you today? Are you abounding in hope? Do you believe that God's goodness still prevails in the earth and in your situation? Are you experiencing the ever increasing glory of the Lord?
