Facing Your Giants (III)

Facing Your Giants (III)

Giants come in all shapes and sizes. As a matter of fact what seems giant to one may seem small to another and vise verse. However, no mater how we spin it we can agree that we all have giants in our lives that we have to muster up the courage to face. In the Bible David and Goliath is the story most commonly used when referring to giants, and that makes sense because he literally faced off with a giant. Nevertheless, I want to approach this thought of "Facing Your Giants" from the perspective of other biblical stories in addition to David and Goliath. Truth be told, David was not the only biblical character that had to face a giant, much like you are not the only one facing giants in your life, though at times it may feel like it. I encourage you to join us as we set out to discover how to Identify, Game Plan, and Tackle the giants in our lives in order that we might fulfill our purpose in God.

Remember God is Bigger Than Your Giants

Text: I Samuel 16:1-13, I Samuel 17:32-47

hey
I. God is Bigger than the Giant of "Being Qualified for the Call"

A. People will judge your call by your pedigree
Text: verse 6-7
i. how you look, what you do for a living, what you've done the past,
where you are in life, where you live, what your hair style is like
ii. People have an issue with judging the call of God on how one looks
presently, but God judges based on how one looks potentially
iii. God know what you have on the inside and what you eventually
will grow to be because he created you, with the intent of fulfilling
your purpose in him in the earth in mind.
iii. He knows what people don't and sees what people can't

God judges by the what is in the heart! That's why when your heart is dedicated to him then he can do extraordinary through vessels that people see as ordinary.

God is Bigger than the Giant of "Stand Alone Faith"

A. People have a hard time standing with one they feel is unqualified. For
this reason it is important that one understand that there will be times
when one will have to exercise "Stand Alone Faith".
B. Stand Alone Faith: faith that one has that is not exercised based on
what people say, feel, or think. It is faith that can stand on it's own
even when standing alone.
C. Remember that your testimony is proof that you can stand alone
i.Everything experience David has come through no one was
with him but God.
ii. When exercising stand alone faith one is not really alone. Why?
Because God is on your side!!!
iii. Remember that everything that you have experienced has
prepared you for this moment! You can do it!
