The Pursuit - 12 WeeksSample

Jesus told a story in Luke 6 about two builders: one built his house on a foundation of rock, the other on sand. When the storms came, only the house on the rock stood firm. Jesus’ point was simple: hearing his words isn’t enough. You have to put them into practice.
It’s easy to admire Jesus’ teaching or underline verses in your Bible without letting them change you. But storms will come — trials, temptations, hardships — and when they do, the strength of your foundation will be revealed. Are you standing on the solid rock of obedience, or on the shaky ground of half-hearted faith? Will you trust His Word when you don’t feel like it? Will you obey even when it costs you something? That’s what it means to build on the rock.
This doesn’t mean perfection. It means direction. Every step of obedience reinforces your foundation. Every time you choose God’s way over your way, you’re making your house stronger.
Reflection:
Where do you need to move from just “hearing” God’s Word to actually living it out?
