The Pursuit - 12 Weeks

DAY 56 OF 84

Hebrews 11 is often called the “Faith Hall of Fame,” a roll call of ordinary people who trusted an extraordinary God. Noah built an ark before the first drop of rain. Abraham left home, not knowing where he was going. Moses confronted Pharaoh with nothing but a shepherd’s staff and God’s promise. None of them had all the answers, but they had faith — and that made all the difference.

Faith, as Hebrews 11 defines it, isn’t wishful thinking or blind optimism. It’s confidence in God’s character and promises, even when the path ahead isn’t clear. It’s saying, “I may not see how this ends, but I know the One who does.” That’s what kept these men and women moving forward when the odds were impossible and the world thought they were foolish.

And here’s the best part: their faith wasn’t perfect. Abraham doubted. Moses hesitated. Sarah laughed. Yet God still commended them for their faith — not because they were flawless, but because they trusted Him anyway. That’s good news for us. Faith doesn’t mean never struggling with fear or doubt; it means choosing to trust God in spite of them.

Reflection:

Where is God asking you to trust Him right now — even when you can’t see how it will turn out?
