30 Days of Scriptures for Mental Health Struggles

DAY 4 OF 30

Day 4: Do Not Give Up

So many times, I wanted to give up on life during my episodes of depression. I felt despondent. However, reading this scripture, Galatians 6:9 NIV, always encouraged me to keep going. It says, “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”

I knew it was good for me to keep praying and reading/reciting scripture daily, but I must admit, sometimes I wondered if it was even working. Like if it was actually making a difference in my mental health.

I’ve since learned that even if we don’t see immediate results, it doesn’t mean our efforts are useless. The Bible says, “at the proper time we will reap a harvest,” not immediately. Therefore, I encourage you to keep the faith, keep believing, keep praying, and reading God’s Word. It is powerful, and you will experience change if you do not give up.

Prayer point:

Heavenly Father, Almighty God, thank you for your Word. I pray and ask that you strengthen me by your spirit so that I won’t give up. Help me press on when I don’t see positive results or change in my mental health. Help me continue to believe in you and trust your words. Guide me each day to peace and stability. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
