DAY 3 OF 30

Day 3: You Still Have Purpose

After the diagnosis of bipolar disorder in July of 2019, I thought I was disqualified from my dreams to be a singer-songwriter. So I took a break from it, not sure if I would ever return to my passion. This break lasted nearly a year.

It ended when I was in the depths of depression for the second time, when I had a strong desire to meet the Lord. God then reminded me of Jeremiah 29:11. This verse reminded me that God still had plans to prosper me and give me a future. So I wrote a song to encourage myself, which was later released under the title “Purpose”.

Now, taking the lyrics from my song, I want to encourage you:

“You were born with a purpose

Distinguished and worth it

No matter what comes your way, you wear a crown

You were born with a purpose

Strong and determined

Within you is God's spirit and power”

You still have a purpose despite your mental health challenges. You are worthy and set apart by God. You are a King’s kid, so you are royalty. You, my dear friend, have a purpose. With God’s power, you are strong and determined enough to get through this tough time. Never forget that within you is God’s spirit and power!

Prayer point:

Heavenly Father, Almighty God, thank you for your spirit and power that is within me. Thank you for Jeremiah 29:11 expressing your plans to prosper me, not to harm me, but to give me a hope and a future. Thank you for blessing me with purpose even still. May I overcome my struggles and carry out your purpose for me every day of my life. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
