HZY | BRP Week 3 - the Role of the Holy SpiritSample

Security of Salvation
At the moment we give our lives to Jesus, we receive the Holy Spirit in our lives. This is God’s promise to us that we now belong to His family and that nothing can take us away from that promise. The Bible describes it by saying we are ‘sealed’ or marked’ with the Holy Spirit. So what is a Seal?
A seal is like a special stamp that they used to put on letters, contracts and even to brand stock or belongings in the ancient world. It showed that the object belonged to someone or was sent by someone, coming under their protection and authority.
The Holy Spirit is the Christian’s seal. God’s own Spirit comes to live in the believer, identifying them as God’s people, His precious family. The presence of the Holy Spirit in a believer’s life is proof to them, and a demonstration to others, that their friendship with God is real. The Holy Spirit gives us assurance that we belong to God as His children and that we can live confidently in relationship with God.
