Through the Bible: Ezekiel

DAY 3 OF 17

## The Glory of God Leaves the Temple > Then the glory of the LORD departed from over the threshold of the temple and stopped above the cherubim. > Ezekiel 10:18 (NIV) What a terrible thing to learn that the glory of God departed from the temple and the city of Jerusalem in Ezekiel’s time. God left the temple because a holy God had to separate Himself from people’s sin and idolatry. We must not take God’s presence for granted, which has now been made accessible through the atonement work of Jesus. We experience His nearness in many ways, including His guidance, love, strength, wisdom, answers to prayer, spiritual gifts and supernatural acts. May we fervently pursue God’s presence just like Moses who said, “if your presence does not go with us, do not bring us up from here.” ### Prayer Abba Father, let us earnestly desire Your glory and presence. May we love what You love and hate what You hate. To fear You, Lord, is to hate evil. Help us not to yield to spiritual compromise, but to follow You wholeheartedly. In Jesus’ most precious name, Amen.
