Cooking Up Confidence (Week One)

DAY 5 OF 7

Day Five - The Lord’s Prayer

Yesterday we looked at how Jesus taught His disciples and us to pray with the Lord's Prayer, we will continue to look at this today and dig a bit deeper into what this prayer teaches us and how we can use it to help us pray.

READ:

Let's look at the Lord’s Prayer again. Find Matthew 6:9-13 in your paper Bible.

Look at Verse 10. It says "Your kingdom come". When we pray we can do this believing that the Kingdom of God would take form on earth so that we can live in a world full of faith, hope, and love. God’s kingdom is not like any other kingdom, it will never crumble, fade or go away. God’s kingdom is strong and full of love.

The Lord's prayer goes on to say, "Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven". God loves us and ‘His will’ means that He wants us to love Him and others. We pray that we will live our lives as God wants by loving Him and others.

ASK:

Take some time to think about how you can share your faith, hope, and show love, to those around you.

Have a little think about our Memory verse below - How would you like God to help you see the wonderful things in His word?

Maybe today you could pray the Lord’s prayer together with your grown-ups?

REMEMBER:

Open my eyes to see the wonderful things in your teachings. (Psalm 119:18)

SAY:

I believe that the Bible has the greatest news,

That you gave to help us find our way.

Your word can be shared with anyone, anywhere!

We trust what your word says.

You can use my words to share your message

You are with me everywhere.

In Jesus' name - Amen.
