Cooking Up Confidence (Week One)Sample

Day One - Persistent prayers
Have you ever wanted something so much that you keep asking your grown-ups again and again? When I was a child, I remember the times that we would be in the car, on a long ride to the beach, or on a holiday, I would always say “Are we nearly there yet”. I had to learn to wait. What about you, can you think of something you have asked for again and again? Are you good at waiting?
READ:
‘Hannah’s Prayer’ in any Children’s Bible or 1 Samuel 1:3-19
Hannah was desperate to start a family of her own, and she had been waiting for a baby for a long time. Hannah was very old, so she knew that she would not be able to have a baby very easily, and that made her very sad. One day, Hannah visited the house of God, she cried and prayed to God. let’s pause for a moment to listen to Hannah’s prayer.
“Lord of heaven’s armies, see how bad I feel. Remember me! Don’t forget me. If you will give me a son, I will give him back to you all his life."
ASK:
The story today is a lot about waiting.
What do you think of when you hear Hannah’s prayer?
Have you ever wanted something to change in your own life?
Take a moment right now to think about some things that you may be waiting for.
Be encouraged today, God is interested in hearing your voice as you speak with Him and tell him what is on your mind.
Do you know that even though Hannah was old in age, she never stopped praying and believing for a miracle!
REMEMBER:
Open my eyes to see the wonderful things in your teachings. (Psalm 119:18)
SAY:
I believe that the Bible has the greatest news,
That you gave to help us find our way.
Your word can be shared with anyone, anywhere!
We trust what your word says.
You can use my words to share your message
You are with me everywhere.
In Jesus' name - Amen.
