Day Three - Looking past disappointment. 

Yesterday we looked at how God wants us to be honest with Him when we pray - we don’t have to have it all figured out because He already knows what's in our hearts and hears every prayer.  Today we are going to look at how Hannah was able to look past her disappointment for so many years.

‘Hannah’s Prayer’ in any Children’s Bible or 1 Samuel 1:3-19.

Hannah had spent a long time praying for her baby son - so many of those years she didn’t see an answer to her prayers, she had her baby son when she was quite old. 

Hannah could’ve let disappointment stop her praying but she never gave up hoping and believing that God would answer her prayer.  Hannah’s prayers were humble, specific, persistent, and expectant -  HSPE. 

ASK:

Did you know that the Holy Spirit helps us to keep going even when disappointments come in our lives? 

Do you remember what HSPE prayers are? (Humble, Specific, Persistent and Expectant)

When we pray HSPE prayers and with the help of the Holy Spirit, just like Hannah we can look past disappointment. 

What HSPE prays do you have that you would like to share with your grown-up today?
