In his distress he sought the favor of the LORD his God and humbled himself greatly before the God of his ancestors.

His prayer and how God was moved by his entreaty, as well as all his sins and unfaithfulness, and the sites where he built high places and set up Asherah poles and idols before he humbled himself—all these are written in the records of the seers.

But unlike his father Manasseh, he did not humble himself before the LORD; Amon increased his guilt.

And when he was in distress, he entreated the favor of the LORD his God and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers.

And his prayer, and how God was moved by his entreaty, and all his sin and his faithlessness, and the sites on which he built high places and set up the Asherim and the images, before he humbled himself, behold, they are written in the Chronicles of the Seers.

And he did not humble himself before the LORD, as Manasseh his father had humbled himself, but this Amon incurred guilt more and more.

But while in deep distress, Manasseh sought the LORD his God and sincerely humbled himself before the God of his ancestors.

Manasseh’s prayer, the account of the way God answered him, and an account of all his sins and unfaithfulness are recorded in The Record of the Seers. It includes a list of the locations where he built pagan shrines and set up Asherah poles and idols before he humbled himself and repented.

But unlike his father, he did not humble himself before the LORD. Instead, Amon sinned even more.

When he was in distress, he sought the favor of the LORD his God and earnestly humbled himself  before the God of his ancestors.

His prayer and how God was receptive to his prayer, and all his sin and unfaithfulness and the sites where he built high places and set up Asherah poles and carved images before he humbled himself, they are written in the Events of Hozai.

But he did not humble himself before the LORD like his father Manasseh humbled himself;  instead, Amon increased his guilt.

And when he was in affliction, he besought the LORD his God, and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers

His prayer also, and how God was intreated of him, and all his sins, and his trespass, and the places wherein he built high places, and set up groves and graven images, before he was humbled: behold, they are written among the sayings of the seers.

and humbled not himself before the LORD, as Manasseh his father had humbled himself; but Amon trespassed more and more.

Now when he was in affliction, he implored the LORD his God, and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers

And he did not humble himself before the LORD, as his father Manasseh had humbled himself; but Amon trespassed more and more.

Then GOD directed the leaders of the troops of the king of Assyria to come after Manasseh. They put a hook in his nose, shackles on his feet, and took him off to Babylon. Now that he was in trouble, he dropped to his knees in prayer asking for help—total repentance before the God of his ancestors. As he prayed, GOD was touched; GOD listened and brought him back to Jerusalem as king. That convinced Manasseh that GOD was in control.

The rest of the history of Manasseh—his prayer to his God, and the sermons the prophets personally delivered by authority of GOD, the God of Israel—this is all written in The Chronicles of the Kings of Israel. His prayer and how God was touched by his prayer, a list of all his sins and the things he did wrong, the actual places where he built the pagan shrines, the installation of the sex-goddess Asherah sites, and the idolatrous images that he worshiped previous to his conversion—this is all described in the records of the prophets.

Amon was twenty-two years old when he became king. He was king for two years in Jerusalem. In GOD’s opinion he lived an evil life, just like his father Manasseh, but he never did repent to GOD as Manasseh repented. He just kept at it, going from one thing to another.

When he was in distress, he appeased the LORD his God and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers.

Furthermore, he did not humble himself before the LORD as his father Manasseh had done, but Amon multiplied his guilt.

Further, he did not humble himself before the LORD as his father Manasseh [finally] had done, but Amon multiplied his guilt and his sin.

In his pain Manasseh asked the LORD his God for mercy and truly humbled himself before the God of his ancestors.

The Annals of the Prophets include his prayer, give an account of how the LORD responded to it, record all his sins and unfaithful acts, and identify the sites where he built high places and erected Asherah poles and idols before he humbled himself.

He did not humble himself before the LORD as his father Manasseh had done. Amon was guilty of great sin.
