Most of us like the idea of honesty. But when push comes to shove, it can feel impossible to live out. Some of the most radically honest moments in the Bible appear in the Psalms. They deal with remorse for sin, spiritual dryness, grief, anger, pride, unanswered prayer, and more. And sometimes when we can’t find the words, it helps to use the words of another to express how we feel. The Psalms teach us many things, but one thing they teach by example is how to be honest with God.

Advent is, of course, a time to prepare. To prepare our homes, lives, and our hearts. Join us as we explore the Bible readings used by the Church to challenge, encourage, and help us prepare, not only to celebrate the incarnation but also the second coming of Christ.
