How Long, O Lord?
To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David.
1 # Ps. 79:5; 89:46; [Rev. 6:10] How long, O Lord? Will you #Ps. 10:12; 44:24; 74:19, 23; Lam. 5:20 forget me forever?
How long will you #See Job 13:24hide your face from me?
2How long must I take #[Ps. 77:6]counsel in my soul
and have sorrow in my heart all the day?
How long shall my enemy be exalted over me?
3 # Ps. 5:1; 119:153 Consider and answer me, O Lord my God;
# Ps. 19:8; Ezra 9:8; Prov. 29:13; Eph. 1:18; [1 Sam. 14:27] light up my eyes, lest #[Jer. 51:39]I sleep the sleep of death,
4 # Deut. 32:27 lest my enemy say, “I have prevailed over him,”
lest my foes rejoice because I am #See Ps. 10:6shaken.
5But I have #See Ps. 11:1 trusted in your steadfast love;
my heart shall #See Ps. 9:14rejoice in your salvation.
6I will sing to the Lord,
because he has dealt bountifully with me.
