Encouragement provides the strength and energy to take action, make decisions, or face challenges. However, life's difficulties can wear down that encouragement. When discouragement sets in, it can negatively affect us, starting as a feeling or thought and potentially deepening into something more spiritual. Today, through the lens of Scripture, we will learn how to overcome it.

The Get Active Devotional and Challenge offers you daily devotions to inspire you to get active. It is based on John 5:1-8, where Jesus tells the man at the pool to “Rise, take up your bed and walk.” Be encouraged as you RISE and get active.

Desolation: A condition of extreme emptiness, hopelessness, sadness, devastation. Can you relate? During times of desolation, whether in life (e.g. loss of job, home, relationship) or in your internal world (e.g. burnout, dark night of the soul), hope feels elusive. Over the next five days, we will explore what perpetuates desolation, meet others in Scripture who experienced it, and learn ways to move towards more fullness and hope.
