ROM 16

Commendation
1 Now I commend to you Phoebe, our sister in Christ, who is a servant and deaconess of the church in Cenchrea,
2 That you may receive her in the Lord in a manner fitting for the saints, and that you may support her in whatever business or matter she may have need of you. For she herself has been a helper of many people, and of me personally as well.
Personal Greetings
3 Greet and give my regards to Prisca and Aquila, my fellow workers and co-labourers in Christ Jesus,
4 Who risked their own lives for my life, to whom not only I give thanks, but also all the churches of the Gentiles are grateful,
5 And greet also the church that meets in their house. Greet Epenetus, my beloved, who is the firstfruits—the first convert to Christ—in the province of Asia.
6 Greet Mary, who has worked hard and laboured much for you and on your behalf.
7 Greet Andronicus and Junia, my fellow Jews and kinsmen, and my fellow prisoners, who are outstanding, prominent, and well-known among the apostles, and who also came to faith in Christ before I did.
8 Greet Ampliatus, my beloved friend in the Lord.
9 Greet Urbanus, our fellow worker and co-labourer in Christ, and Stachys, my beloved friend.
10 Greet Apelles, the tested and approved one in Christ—one whose faith has been proven genuine. Greet those who belong to the household of Aristobulus.
11 Greet Herodion, my kinsman and fellow Jew. Greet those members of the household of Narcissus who are believers in the Lord.
12 Greet Tryphaena and Tryphosa, women who work hard and labour in the Lord's service. Greet Persis, the beloved sister, who has worked very hard and laboured much in the Lord.
13 Greet Rufus, elect in the Lord, and greet his mother, who has been like a mother to me as well.
14 Greet Asyncritus, Phlegon, Hermes, Patrobas, Hermas, and the brothers and sisters who meet with them.
15 Greet Philologus and Julia, Nereus and his sister, and Olympas, and all the saints and believers who are with them.
16 Greet one another with a holy kiss—a kiss of Christian love and fellowship that is pure and appropriate. All the churches of Christ send their greetings to you.
Final Remarks
17 Now I urge you earnestly, brothers and sisters, to be on guard against those who cause divisions, dissensions, and obstacles contrary to the sound teaching which you have learned, and turn away from them.
18 For such individuals do not serve our Lord Christ, but rather serve their own selfish desires; and through flattering words, they seduce and deceive the hearts of the unsuspecting.
19 For the report of your obedience to the gospel has reached everyone; therefore, I am glad over you. Yet I want you to be wise and discerning with regard to what is good, and innocent and guileless with regard to what is evil.
20 Now the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet in a short time.
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.
Greetings from Paul's Companions
21 Timothy, my fellow worker and beloved companion, sends his greetings to you, as do Lucius and Jason and Sosipater, my kinsmen and fellow Jews.
22 I, Tertius, the scribe and secretary who wrote down this letter at Paul's dictation, greet you in the Lord.
23 Gaius, who is host to me and provides hospitality to the whole church that meets in his home, sends his greetings to you. Erastus, the treasurer and director of public works of the city of Corinth, and Quartus, our brother in Christ, send their greetings to you.
Doxology
25 Now to the One who is able to strengthen you according to my gospel—the good news I preach—and the proclamation of Jesus Christ, in accordance with the revelation of the mystery—the truth that was previously hidden—which has been kept secret for long ages past throughout eternal times,
26 But has now been made manifest, and through the prophetic Scriptures of the Old Testament has been made known to all the Gentile nations, according to the commandment and commission of the eternal God, to bring about the obedience that is grounded in and flows from faith—
27 To the only wise God, who alone possesses all wisdom, through Jesus Christ our mediator, to whom belongs the glory forever and ever. Amen.
