Psalms 61
61
A Prayer for Protection#Ps 61 Hebrew title: By David.
1Hear my cry, O God;
listen to my prayer!
2In despair and far from home
I call to you!
Take me to a safe refuge,
3for you are my protector,
my strong defence against my enemies.
4Let me live in your sanctuary all my life;
let me find safety under your wings.
5You have heard my promises, O God,
and you have given me what belongs to those who honour you.
6Add many years to the king's life;
let him live on and on!
7May he rule for ever in your presence, O God;
protect him with your constant love and faithfulness.
8So I will always sing praises to you,
as I offer you daily what I have promised.

Tehillim 61
61
(For the one directing. With stringed instruments. Of Dovid)
1Hear my cry, Elohim; attend unto my tefillah.
2 From the end of ha'aretz will I call unto Thee, when my lev is overwhelmed; lead me to the Tzur that is higher than I.
3 For Thou hast been a refuge for me, and a migdal oz (tower of strength) from the enemy.
4 I will abide in Thy ohel forever; I will take refuge in the covert of Thy wings. Selah
5 For Thou, Elohim, hast heard my nederim; Thou hast given me the yerushat yirei Shemecha (inheritance of those that fear Thy Name).
6 Thou wilt prolong days of the Melech, and his shanot dor vador.
7 He shall abide before Elohim forever; O appoint chesed and emes, to preserve him.
8 So will I sing praise unto Shimecha forever, that I may yom yom (daily) perform my nederim.
