33
PSALM THIRTY-THREE
1Rejoice in the Lord, O you righteous ones; praise is becoming for the upright. #Psa. 32:11, 147:1
2Praise the Lord with a lyre; sing unto Him with a harp of ten strings. #Psa. 92:3
3Sing unto Him a new song; play skillfully with shouts of joy, #Psa. 96:1
4For the Word of the Lord is upright; and all His works are done in faithfulness.
5He loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of the lovingkindness of the Lord. #Psa. 11:7, 119:64
6By the Word of the Lord were the heavens made, and all the host of them by the breath of His mouth. #Psa. 48:5; Job 26:13; Heb. 11:3
7He gathered the waters of the sea together like a heap, putting the depths in storehouses. #Job 26:10
8Let all the earth fear the Lord; let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him,
9For He spoke, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast. #Gen. 1:3; Psa. 148:5
10The Lord brings the counsel of the nations to nothing; He frustrates the plans of the people. #Isa. 8:10
11The counsel of the Lord stands forever, the thoughts of His heart to all generations. #Job 23:13
12Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, and the people He has chosen for His own inheritance. #Ex. 19:5; Deut. 7:6
13The Lord looks down from heaven; He beholds all the sons of men. #Psa. 11:4; Job 28:24
14From His dwelling place He looks intently upon all the inhabitants of the earth.
15Together He fashions their hearts alike; He considers all their works. #Jer. 32:19
16The king is not saved by a great army; a mighty man is not delivered by much strength. #Psa. 44:6
17A horse is a vain thing for safety; neither shall it deliver any by its great strength. #Psa. 20:7; Prov. 21:31
18Behold, the eye of the Lord is upon those who fear Him, upon those who hope in His lovingkindness, #Psa. 34:15, 147:11; Job 36:7
19To deliver their soul from death and to keep them alive in famine. #Job 5:20
20Our soul waits for the Lord; He is our help and our shield, #Psa. 130:6
21For our heart shall rejoice in Him because we have trusted in His holy name. #John 16:22
22Let Your lovingkindness, O Lord, be upon us, according as we hope in You.
