(PSALMS 107-150)
PSALM ONE HUNDRED-SEVEN
1O give thanks to the Lord, for He is good, for His steadfast love endures forever. #Psa. 106:1, 119:68
2So let the redeemed of the Lord say, whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy, #Psa. 106:10
3And gathered them out of the lands, from the east, and from the west, from the north, and from the south. #Psa. 106:47
4They wandered in the wilderness, in a desert by the way; they found no city to dwell in. #Deut. 32:10
5Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them.
6Then they cried to the Lord in their distress, and He delivered them out of their troubles. #Hos. 5:15; Psa. 50:15
7And He led them by a straight way, so that they might go to a city to dwell. #Ezra 8:21
8Let them praise the Lord for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of man, #Psa. 107:15, 21
9For He satisfies the thirsty soul and fills the hungry soul with good things. #Psa. 34:10; Luke 1:53
10Some sat in the darkness and in the shadow of death, being chained in affliction and iron #Job 36:8; Luke 1:79
11Because they rebelled against the words of God and despised the counsel of the Most High. #Psa. 73:24; Lam. 3:42; Luke 7:30; Acts 20:27
12Therefore He humbled their heart with labor; they stumbled, and there was none to help. #Isa. 63:5; Psa. 22:11
13Then they cried to the Lord in their distress, and He saved them out of their troubles.
14He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and broke their bands asunder. #Psa. 68:6; Acts 12:7
15Let them praise the Lord for His goodness and for His wonderful works to the children of men! #Psa. 107:8, 21, 31
16For He has broken the gates of bronze and cut through the bars of iron. #Isa. 45:2
17Fools are afflicted because of their rebellion and because of their iniquities. #Lam. 3:39
18They themselves loathed all kinds of food, and they drew near the gates of death. #Psa. 9:13; Job 33:20, 22
19Then they cried unto the Lord in their distress, and He delivered them out of their troubles.
20He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions. #Psa. 30:2-3, 49:15, 103:3; Job 33:28; Mat. 8:8
21Let them praise the Lord for His goodness and for His wonderful works to the children of men!
22And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare His works with rejoicing! #Lev. 7:12; Psa. 9:11, 73:28, 116:17, 118:17; Heb. 13:15
23Those who go down to the sea in ships, who do business in great waters,
24These see the works of the Lord and His wonders in the deep,
25For He commanded and raised the stormy wind which lifted up the waves of the sea. #Jonah. 1:4
26They mounted up to heaven, they went down again to the depths; their courage melted away because of the peril. #Psa. 22:14
27They reeled to and fro, and staggered like a drunken man, and were at their wits’ end.
28And they cried to the Lord in their distress, and He delivered them out of their troubles. #Psa. 107:6, 13, 19
29He made the storm calm, so that its waves were still. #Psa. 89:9; Mat. 8:26
30Then they were glad because they were quiet, and He led them to their desired haven.
31Let them praise the Lord for His goodness and for His wonderful works to the children of men! #Psa. 107:8, 15, 21
32And let them exalt Him in the congregation of the people and praise Him in the assembly of the elders. #Psa. 22:22, 25
33He turns rivers into a wilderness and watersprings into thirsty ground; #1 Ki. 17:1, 7
34A fruitful land is changed into a salty desert because of the wickedness of those who dwell in it. #Gen. 13:10, 14:3, 19:25
35He turns the wilderness into pools of water and dry ground into watersprings. #Isa. 41:18; Psa. 114:8
36And He makes the hungry dwell there, so that they may prepare a city of habitation,
37And sow the fields, and plant vineyards, which may yield fruits of increase.
38He also blesses them, so that they are multiplied greatly, and does not allow their livestock to decrease. #Gen. 12:2, 17:16, 20; Ex. 1:7
39Again, they have become few and brought low through oppression, affliction, and sorrow. #2 Ki. 10:32
40He pours contempt upon nobles and causes them to wander in the wilderness, where there is no path. #Job 12:21, 24
41But He raises up the poor from affliction and sets their families like a flock. #1 Sam. 2:8; Psa. 78:52, 113:7-8
42The righteous shall see it and rejoice; and all iniquity shall stop its mouth. #Psa. 63:11; Prov. 10:11; Job 5:15-16; Rom. 3:19
43Whoever is wise, let him give heed to these things, and let them consider the mercies of the Lord. #Jer. 9:12; Psa. 64:9; Hos. 14:9
