I Timothy 1

CHAPTER ONE
Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ according to the commandment of God our Savior, and of the Lord Jesus Christ, Who is our hope, #Acts 9:15; Col. 1:27; Tit. 1:3
To Timothy, my true son in the faith: Grace, mercy and peace from God our Father and Christ Jesus our Lord. #Acts 16:1; Gal. 1:3; Tit. 1:4
When I was going to Macedonia, I exhorted you to remain in Ephesus, in order that you might solemnly charge some not to teach other doctrines; #Acts 20:1; Gal. 1:6-7
Nor to pay attention to myths and endless genealogies, which lead to empty speculations rather than to edification from God, which is in faith. #1 Tim. 6:4; Tit. 1:14
Now the purpose of the commandment is love out of a pure heart, and a good conscience, and genuine faith; #Rom. 13:8; Gal. 5:14; 2 Tim. 2:22
From which some, having missed the mark, have turned aside unto vain jangling; #1 Tim. 6:4, 20
Desiring to be teachers of the law, neither understanding what they are saying, nor what they are strongly affirming. #1 Tim. 6:4
Now we know that the law is good, if anyone uses it lawfully, #Rom. 7:12
Understanding this: that law is not enacted for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and sinful, forthe unholy and profane, for slayers of fathers and slayers of mothers, for murderers, #Gal. 3:19
For fornicators, for homosexuals, for kidnappers, for liars, for perjurers, and for any other thing that is opposed to sound doctrine; #2 Tim. 4:3; Tit. 1:9
According to the gospel of the glory of the blessed God, with which I was entrusted. #1 Cor. 9:17; Gal. 2:7; Col. 1:25
And I thank Jesus Christ our Lord, Who has empowered me, that He counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry, #1 Cor. 7:25; 2 Cor. 3:5, 12:9
Who was previously a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent person; but I obtained mercy because I did it ignorantly in unbelief. #John 4:21; Acts 8:3
But the grace of our Lord abounded exceedingly with the faith and love that is in Christ Jesus. #Luke 7:47; Rom. 5:20; 2 Tim. 1:13
This is a faithful saying, and worthy of full acceptance: that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief. #Mat. 9:13; 2 Tim. 2:11
But for this reason I was shown mercy in order that in me first Jesus Christ might demonstrate all long-suffering, for an example to those who would afterwards believe on Him unto eternal life. #Acts 13:39; 2 Cor. 4:1
Now to the King of eternity, the incorruptible, invisible, and only wise God, be honor and glory into the ages of eternity. Amen. #1 Chr. 29:11; Psa. 10:16; Rom. 1:23, 16:27; Heb. 11:27
This charge I am personally committing to you, my son Timothy, in accordance with the prophecies that were made long ago concerning you; in order that by them you yourself might wage a good war, #1 Tim. 4:14; 2 Tim. 2:2-3
Holding to the faith and a good conscience. For some, having cast aside a good conscience, have made shipwreck in regard to the faith;
Of whom are Hymeneus and Alexander, whom I turned over to Satan in order that they may learn not to blaspheme. #Acts 13:45; 1 Cor. 5:5; 2 Tim. 2:17, 4:14
