Tehillim (Psalms) 68
68
1Elohim arises, His enemies are scattered. And those who hate Him flee before Him!
2As smoke is driven away, You drive them away; As wax melts before the fire, The wrong perish before Elohim.
3But the righteous are glad, They exult before Elohim. And they rejoice with gladness.
4Sing to Elohim, sing praises to His Name. Raise up a highway for Him Who rides through the deserts, By His Name Yah, And exult before Him.
5Father of the fatherless, And Right-ruler of widows, Is Elohim in His set-apart dwelling.
6Elohim makes a home for the lonely; He brings out into prosperity Those who are bound with chains; Only the rebellious shall dwell in a dry land.
7O Elohim, when You went out before Your people, When You stepped through the wilderness, Selah.
8The earth shook and the heavens dropped before Elohim, This Sinai, shook before Elohim, the Elohim of Yisra’ĕl.
9You, O Elohim, sent a shower of plenty, You confirmed Your inheritance, When it was weary.
10Your flock dwelt in it; You provided from Your goodness for the poor, O Elohim.
11יהוה gave the word; The women who proclaimed it was a great company:
12Sovereigns of armies flee in haste! And she who remains at home divides the spoil.
13If you lie down among the sheepfolds, The wings of a dove are covered with silver, And her feathers with yellow gold.
14When the Almighty scattered sovereigns in it, It did snow in Tsalmon.
15A mountain of Elohim is the mountain of Bashan; A mountain of peaks is the mountain of Bashan.
16O mountain of peaks, why do you gaze in envy At the mountain which Elohim desired to dwell in; יהוה even dwells there forever.
17The chariots of Elohim are twenty thousand, Thousands of thousands; יהוה came from Sinai Into the Set-apart Place.
18You have ascended on high, You have led captivity captive, You have received gifts among men, And even the rebellious, That Yah Elohim might dwell there.
19Blessed be יהוה, Day by day He bears our burden, The Ěl of our deliverance! Selah.
20Our Ěl is the Ěl of deliverance; And to יהוה, the Master, belong escapes from death.
21Indeed, Elohim smites the head of His enemies, The hairy scalp of him who walks about in His guilt.
22יהוה said, “I bring back from Bashan, I bring back from the depths of the sea,
23So that you plunge your foot in blood; That the tongues of your dogs Have their portion from the enemies.
24They have seen Your goings, O Elohim, The goings of my Ěl, my Sovereign, Into the set-apart place.
25The singers went in front, The players on instruments after them; Among them were the young women#See Explanatory Notes "Maiden" playing tambourines.
26Bless Elohim in the assemblies, יהוה, from the fountain of Yisra’ĕl.
27There is Binyamin, the smallest, their ruler, The leaders of Yehuḏah, their company, The leader of Zeḇulun, the leader of Naphtali.
28Your Elohim has commanded your strength, be strong! O Elohim, this You have worked out for us!
29Because of Your Hĕḵal at Yerushalayim, Sovereigns bring presents to You.
30Rebuke the wild beasts of the reeds, The herd of bulls, with the calves of the peoples, Each one humbling himself with pieces of silver. Scatter the peoples who delight in conflicts!
31Ambassadors come out of Mitsrayim; Kush stretches out her hands to Elohim.
32Sing to Elohim, you reigns of the earth, Praises to יהוה, Selah.
33To Him who rides on the ancient highest heavens! See, He sends out His voice, a mighty voice.
34Ascribe strength to Elohim; His excellence is over Yisra’ĕl, And His strength is in the clouds.
35O Elohim, awesome from Your set-apart places, The Ěl of Yisra’ĕl is He Who gives strength and power to His people. Blessed be Elohim!

Psalms 68
68
Praise God Who Saved the Nation
For the director of music. A psalm of David. A song.
1Let God rise up and scatter his enemies;
let those who hate him run away from him.
2Blow them away as smoke
is driven away by the wind.
As wax melts before a fire,
let the wicked be destroyed before God.
3But those who do right should be glad
and should rejoice before God;
they should be happy and glad.
4Sing to God; sing praises to his name.
Prepare the way for him
who rides through the desert,
whose name is the Lord.
Rejoice before him.
5God is in his holy Temple.
He is a father to orphans,
and he defends the widows.
6God gives the lonely a home.
He leads prisoners out with joy,
but those who turn against God will live in a dry land.
7God, you led your people out
when you marched through the desert.Selah
8The ground shook
and the sky poured down rain
before God, the God of Mount Sinai,
before God, the God of Israel.
9God, you sent much rain;
you refreshed your tired land.
10Your people settled there.
God, in your goodness
you took care of the poor.
11The Lord gave the command,
and a great army told the news:
12“Kings and their armies run away.
In camp they divide the wealth taken in war.
13Those who stayed by the campfires
will share the riches taken in battle.”
14The Almighty scattered kings
like snow on Mount Zalmon.
15The mountains of Bashan are high;
the mountains of Bashan have many peaks.
16Why do you mountains with many peaks look with envy
on the mountain that God chose for his home?
The Lord will live there forever.
17God comes with millions of chariots;
the Lord comes from Mount Sinai to his holy place.
18When you went up to the heights,
you led a parade of captives.
You received gifts from the people,
even from those who turned against you.
And the Lord God will live there.
19Praise the Lord, God our Savior,
who helps us every day.Selah
20Our God is a God who saves us;
the Lord God saves us from death.
21God will crush his enemies’ heads,
the hairy skulls of those who continue to sin.
22The Lord said, “I will bring the enemy back from Bashan;
I will bring them back from the depths of the sea.
23Then you can stick your feet in their blood,
and your dogs can lick their share.”
24God, people have seen your victory march;
God my King marched into the holy place.
25The singers are in front and the instruments are behind.
In the middle are the girls with the tambourines.
26Praise God in the meeting place;
praise the Lord in the gathering of Israel.
27There is the smallest tribe, Benjamin, leading them.
And there are the leaders of Judah with their group.
There also are the leaders of Zebulun and of Naphtali.
28God, order up your power;
show the mighty power you have used for us before.
29Kings will bring their wealth to you,
to your Temple in Jerusalem.
30Punish Egypt, the beast in the tall grass along the river.
Punish the leaders of nations, those bulls among the cows.
Defeated, they will bring you their silver.
Scatter those nations that love war.
31Messengers will come from Egypt;
the people of Cush will pray to God.
32Kingdoms of the earth, sing to God;
sing praises to the Lord.Selah
33Sing to the one who rides through the skies, which are from long ago.
He speaks with a thundering voice.
34Announce that God is powerful.
He rules over Israel,
and his power is in the skies.
35God, you are wonderful in your Temple.
The God of Israel gives his people strength and power.
Praise God!
