Dani’ĕl (Daniel) 12
12
1“Now at that time Miḵa’ĕl shall stand up, the great head who is standing over the sons of your people. And there shall be a time of distress, such as never was since there was a nation, until that time. And at that time your people shall be delivered, every one who is found written in the book,
2and many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth wake up, some to everlasting life, and some to reproaches, everlasting abhorrence.
3“And those who have insight shall shine like the brightness of the expanse, and those who lead many to righteousness like the stars forever and ever.
4“But you, Dani’ĕl, hide the words, and seal the book until the time of the end.#See Dan. 12:9 Many shall diligently search and knowledge shall increase.”
5Then I, Dani’ĕl, looked and saw two others standing, one on this bank of the river and the other on that bank.
6And one said to the man dressed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, “How long until the end of these wonders?”
7And I heard the man dressed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, and he held up his right hand and his left hand to the heavens, and swore by Him who lives forever, that it would be for an appointed time, appointed times, and half a time. And when they have ended scattering the power of the set-apart people, then all these shall be completed.
8And I heard, but I did not understand, so I said, “My master, what is the latter end of these matters?”
9And he said, “Go, Dani’ĕl, for the words are hidden and sealed till the time of the end.#See Dan. 12:4
10“Many shall be cleansed and made white, and refined. But the wrong shall do wrong – and none of the wrong shall understand, but those who have insight shall understand.
11“And from the time that which is continual is taken away, and the abomination that lays waste is set up, is one thousand two hundred and ninety days.
12“Blessed is he who is waiting earnestly, and comes to the one thousand three hundred and thirty-five days.
13“But you, go your way till the end. And rest, and arise to your lot at the end of the days.”

Part Four: The Dead Will Rise to Life
1 #
Rev 12.7;
Mt 24.21; Mk 13.19; Rev 7.14. Michael, the chief of the angels, is the protector of your people, and he will come at a time of terrible suffering, the worst in all of history. And your people who have their names written in The Book#12.1 The Book: Either the book with the names of God's people in it or the book with the record of the good and evil that people have done. will be protected. 2#Is 26.19; 2 Macc 7.9-11,14; Mt 25.46; Jn 5.29. Many of those who lie dead in the ground will rise from death. Some of them will be given eternal life, and others will receive nothing but eternal shame and disgrace. 3#2 Esd 7.97. Everyone who has been wise will shine as bright as the sky above, and everyone who has led others to please God will shine forever like the stars.

Rev 22.10. Daniel, I now command you to keep the message of this book secret until the end of time, even though many people will go everywhere, searching for the knowledge to be found in it.#12.4 even though … in it: One possible meaning for the difficult Hebrew text.
The End of Time
5Daniel wrote:
I looked around and saw two other people—one on this side of the river and one on the other side. 6The angel who had spoken to me was dressed in linen and was standing upstream from them.#12.6 angel … upstream from them: See 10.4-6. So one of the two beside the river asked him, “How long before these amazing things happen?”

Rev 10.5;
Rev 12.14. The angel then raised both hands toward heaven and said, “In the name of the God who lives forever, I solemnly promise that it will be a time, two times, and half a time.#12.7 a time, two times, and half a time: Or “a year, two years, and half a year,” that is, about 1,260 days. Everything will be over, when the suffering of God's holy people comes to an end.”
8I heard what the angel said, but I didn't understand. So I asked, “Sir, how will it all end?”
The angel in my vision then replied:
9Daniel, go about your business, because the meaning of this message will remain secret until the end of time. 10#Rev 22.11. Many people will have their hearts and lives made pure and clean, but those who are evil will keep on being evil and never understand. Only the wise will understand. 11#Dn 9.27; 11.31; Mt 24.15; Mk 13.14. There will be 1,290 days from the time that the daily sacrifices are stopped, until someone sets up the “Horrible Thing” that causes destruction. 12God will bless everyone who patiently waits until 1,335 days have gone by.
13So, Daniel, be faithful until the end! You will rest, and at the end of time, you will rise from death to receive your reward.
