Tas`loniqim Aleph (1 Thessalonians) 5
5
1Now, brothers, as to the times and the seasons, you do not need to be written to.
2For you yourselves know very well that the day of יהוה comes as a thief in the night.
3For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then suddenly destruction comes upon them, as labour pains upon a pregnant woman, and they shall not escape.
4But you, brothers, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief.
5For you are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness.
6So, then, we should not sleep, as others do, but we should watch and be sober.
7For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk are drunk at night.
8But we who are of the day should be sober, putting on the breastplate of belief and love, and as a helmet the expectation of deliverance.# Isa. 59:17
9Because Elohim did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain deliverance through our Master יהושע Messiah,
10who died for us, so that we, whether awake or asleep, should live together with Him.
11Therefore encourage one another, and build up one another, as indeed you do.
12But brothers, we beg you to know those who labour among you, and are over you in the Master and admonish you,
13and to hold them in the highest regard in love because of their work. Be at peace among yourselves.
14And we appeal to you, brothers, warn those who are disorderly, encourage the faint-hearted, uphold the weak, be patient with all.
15See that no one renders evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good both for yourselves and for all.
16Rejoice always,
17pray without ceasing,
18in all circumstances give thanks, for this is the desire of Elohim in Messiah יהושע for you.
19Do not quench the Spirit.
20Do not despise prophecies,
21prove them all. Hold fast what is good.
22Keep back from every form of wickedness.
23And the Elohim of peace Himself set you completely apart, and your entire spirit, and being, and body - be preserved blameless at the coming of our Master יהושע Messiah!
24He who calls you is trustworthy, who also shall do it.
25Brothers, pray for us.
26Greet all the brothers with a set-apart kiss.
27I charge you by the Master that this letter be read to all the set-apart brothers.
28The favour of our Master יהושע Messiah be with you. Amĕn.

1 Thessalonians 5
5
The Lord’s coming
1We don’t need to write to you about the timing and dates, brothers and sisters. 2You know very well that the day of the Lord is going to come like a thief in the night. 3When they are saying, “There is peace and security,” at that time sudden destruction will attack them, like labor pains start with a pregnant woman, and they definitely won’t escape. 4But you aren’t in darkness, brothers and sisters, so the day won’t catch you by surprise like a thief. 5All of you are children of light and children of the day. We don’t belong to night or darkness. 6So then, let’s not sleep like the others, but let’s stay awake and stay sober. 7People who sleep sleep at night, and people who get drunk get drunk at night. 8Since we belong to the day, let’s stay sober, wearing faithfulness and love as a piece of armor that protects our body#5.8 Or breastplate and the hope of salvation as a helmet. 9God didn’t intend for us to suffer his wrath but rather to possess salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. 10Jesus died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we will live together with him. 11So continue encouraging each other and building each other up, just like you are doing already.
Final instructions and blessing
12Brothers and sisters, we ask you to respect those who are working with you, leading you, and instructing you. 13Think of them highly with love because of their work. Live in peace with each other. 14Brothers and sisters, we urge you to warn those who are disorderly. Comfort the discouraged. Help the weak. Be patient with everyone. 15Make sure no one repays a wrong with a wrong, but always pursue the good for each other and everyone else. 16Rejoice always. 17Pray continually. 18Give thanks in every situation because this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. 19Don’t suppress the Spirit. 20Don’t brush off Spirit-inspired messages, 21but examine everything carefully and hang on to what is good. 22Avoid every kind of evil. 23Now, may the God of peace himself cause you to be completely dedicated to him; and may your spirit, soul, and body be kept intact and blameless at our Lord Jesus Christ’s coming. 24The one who is calling you is faithful and will do this.
Final greeting
25Brothers and sisters, pray for us. 26Greet all the brothers and sisters with a holy kiss. 27By the Lord’s authority, I order all of you to have this letter read aloud to all the brothers and sisters. 28The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with all of you.
