Jeremiah 37
37
CHAPTER 37
1And king Zedekiah, the son of Josiah, reigned for Jeconiah#37:1 Also known as Coniah and Jehoiachin., the son of Jehoiakim, whom Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, made king in the land of Judah.
2And he, and his servants, and his people obeyed not to the words of the Lord, which he spake in the hand of Jeremy, the prophet.
3And king Zedekiah sent Jehucal, the son of Shelemiah, and Zephaniah, the priest, the son of Maaseiah, to Jeremy, the prophet, and said, Pray thou for us our Lord God.
4Forsooth Jeremy went freely in the midst of the people; for they had not sent him into the keeping of the prison.
5Therefore the host of Pharaoh went out of Egypt, and [the] Chaldees, that besieged Jerusalem, heard such a message, and went away from Jeru-salem.
6And the word of the Lord was made to Jeremy, the prophet, and said,
7The Lord God of Israel saith these things, Thus ye shall say to the king of Judah, that sent you to ask me, Lo! the host of Pharaoh, which went out to you into help, shall turn again into his land, into Egypt.
8And Chaldees shall come again, and shall fight against this city, and shall take it, and shall burn it with fire.
9The Lord saith these things, Do not ye deceive your souls, saying, Chaldees going shall go away, and shall depart from us; for they shall not go away.
10But though ye slay all the host of Chaldees, that fight against you, and some wounded men of them be left, each man shall rise from his tent, and they shall burn this city with fire.
11Therefore when the host of Chaldees had gone away from Jerusalem, for the host of Pharaoh,
12Jeremy went out of Jerusalem, to go into the land of Benjamin, and to part there the possession in the sight of [the] citizens.
13And when he was come to the gate of Benjamin, there was a keeper of the gate by whiles, Irijah by name, the son of Shelemiah, son of Hananiah; and he took Jeremy, the prophet, and said, Thou fleest to [the] Chaldees.
14And Jeremy answered, It is false; I flee not to [the] Chaldees. And he heard not Jeremy, but Irijah took Jeremy, and brought him to the princes.
15Wherefore the princes were wroth against Jeremy, and beat him, and sent him into the prison, that was in the house of Jonathan, the scribe; for he was sovereign on the prison.
16Therefore Jeremy entered into the house of the pit, and into the prison of travail; and Jeremy sat there many days.
17Therefore king Zedekiah sent, and took him away, and asked him privily in his house, and said, Guessest thou, whether a word is of the Lord? And Jeremy said, There is. And Jeremy said, Thou shalt be betaken into the hand of the king of Babylon.
18And Jeremy said to Zedekiah, the king, What have I sinned to thee, and to thy servants, and to thy people, for thou hast sent me into the house of [the] prison?
19Where be your prophets, that prophesied to you, and said, The king of Babylon shall not come [up] on you, and on this land?
20Now therefore, my lord the king, I beseech, hear thou, my prayer be worthy in thy sight, and send thou not me again into the house of Jonathan, the scribe, lest I die there.
21Therefore Zedekiah commanded, that Jeremy should be betaken into the porch of the prison, and that a cake of bread should be given to him each day, without stew, till all the loaves of the city were wasted; and Jeremy dwelled in the porch of the prison.

Jeremià 37
37
Nila torohevitra tamin’i Jeremià i Tsedekià mpanjaka
1Ary i Nebokadnetsara mpanjakan’i Babilôna nampanjaka an’i Tsedekià, zanakalahin’i Josià tao Joda mba hisolo an’i Kônià#37.1 Kônià: jereo 22.24 sy nta., zanakalahin’i Jôiakima. 2Kanefa, na i Tsedekià na ireo tandapany na ireo vahoakan’i Joda, dia samy tsy nihaino ny fampitandremana izay nampitain’ny TOMPO tamin’ny alalan’i Jeremià mpaminany.
3I Tsedekià mpanjaka kosa dia naniraka an’i Jokaly, zanakalahin’i Selemià ary koa i Tsefanià mpisorona, zanakalahin’i Mahaseià ho any amin’i Jeremià mpaminany ihany hanao aminy hoe:
–Miangavy anao aho mba hivavaka ho anay amin’ny TOMPO Andriamanitsika.
4Tamin’izay fotoana izay dia tsy mbola voatana an-tranomaizina i Jeremià, ka afaka nivezivezy malalaka. 5Ny tafiky ny Farao dia efa niainga avy tany Ejipta rahateo; koa raha nandre izany ny Babilônianina, izay teo am-panaovana fahirano an’i Jerosalema, dia nihataka kely niala an’i Jerosalema. 6Ary nisy tenin’ny TOMPO ho an’i Jeremià mpaminany manao hoe: 7«Izao no lazain’ny TOMPO Andriamanitr’i Israely: ‹Ny mpanjakan’i Joda izay naniraka anareo hanontany Ahy dia ilazao hoe: Ny tafiky ny Farao, izay efa niainga mba hamonjy anareo, dia niverina ilalana ka nody any Ejipta. 8Ho avy indray kosa ny Babilônianina hanafika ity tanàna ity ka hahazo azy sady handoro azy amin’ny afo. 9Ary izao koa no lazaiko aminareo: Aza mamita-tena foana ka hihevitra fa lasa tanteraka ny Babilônianina, satria tsy nandeha velively ireo! 10Ary na dia ho resinareo aza ny tafika babilônianina manontolo izay miady aminareo, ka tsy misy tavela afa-tsy olona maratra, dia mbola hitsangana tsirairay avy ao an-dainy ireny ka ho avy handoro ity tanàna ity amin’ny afo.› »
Natao an-tranomaizina i Jeremià
11Fa raha mbola nihataka an’i Jerosalema ny tafika babilônianina mba hidify ny tafiky ny Farao, 12dia nivoaka ny tanàna i Jeremià hankany amin’ny faritanin’i Benjamîna mba handray anjara amin’ny fizaràn-tany#37.12 fizaràn-tany: ny andalan-teny maromaro toy ny Is 34.17; Sal 16.5-6, indrindra Mk 2.5 dia ahazoana mihevitra fa ny fizaràn-tany toy izao dia nitranga isaky ny vanim-potoana. Dkt hafa «hizara ny lova ao amin’ny fianakaviany.» ataon’ny fianakaviany. 13Kanjo raha vao nandalo teo am-bavahadin’i Benjamîna#37.13 vavahadin’i Benjamîna: iray amin’ny fivoahana mianavaratra avy ao Jerosalema. izy, dia nifanehatra tamin’ny lehiben’ny mpiambina atao hoe Jirià, zanakalahin’i Selemià sady zafikelin’i Hananià. Ary nosamborin’i Jirià i Jeremià mpaminany ka nataony hoe:
–Miandany amin’ny Babilônianina ianao.
14Fa novalian’i Jeremià hoe:
–Lainga izany, tsy miandany amin’ny Babilônianina aho.
Nefa tsy nino izany i Jirià fa nisambotra an’i Jeremià ary nitondra azy ho any amin’ny lehibeny. 15Tezitra tamin’i Jeremià kosa ireto ka nikapoka azy sady nanagadra azy tao an-tranon’i Jônatàna mpitantsora-panjakana. 16Ary naiditra tao amin’ilay efitra miendrika an-dohalambo i Jeremià.
Efa ela nitoerana tao amin’io tranomaizina io Jeremià 17no nanirahan’i Tsedekià olona haka azy mba hanontaniany mangina tao an-dapany hoe:
–Moa misy hafatry ny TOMPO tokoa va ho ahy?
Ka novalian’i Jeremià hoe:
–Eny, dia inty: «Hatolotra eo an-tanan’ny mpanjakan’i Babilôna ianao.»
18Ary hoy koa i Jeremià tamin’i Tsedekià mpanjaka:
–Inona no heloka nataoko taminao na tamin’ny manamboninahitrao na tamin’ny mponina eto amin’ity tanàna ity no dia nataonareo an-tranomaizina aho? 19Ary nankaiza ireo mpaminany izay naminany teo aminareo fa tsy ho tonga hanafika anareo na ity tanàna ity ny mpanjakan’i Babilôna?
20Dia nampian’i Jeremià hoe:
–Ankehitriny, ry andriamanjaka, miangavy anao aho mba hihaino ny fangatahana ataoko eo anatrehanao: Aza averina any an-tranon’i Jônatàna mpitantsora-panjakana intsony aho, fandrao maty ao.
21Dia nanome baiko i Tsedekià mpanjaka mba hapetraka eo an-kianjan’ny trano fiambenana i Jeremià sady homena mofo boribory iray isan’andro avy ao amin’ny lalankelin’ny Mpanao mofo mandra-pahalanin’ny mofo rehetra ao an-tanàna. Toy izany no nijanonan’i Jeremià tao an-kianjan’ny trano fiambenana.
