About Peter's second letter
Peter was one of the 12 men that Jesus chose to be his apostles. Peter's name was Simon, but Jesus changed it to Peter. ‘Peter’ means a ‘rock’ or a ‘stone’.
This is the second letter that Peter wrote. Almost certainly, he wrote this letter at some time between the years AD 65 and 68. Peter probably died soon after he wrote this letter.
Peter wrote this letter to Christians who wanted to obey God. Some false teachers were teaching wrong ideas about Jesus and God. So Peter wrote this letter to help the Christians. He wanted them to believe in God and Jesus more strongly. #1:0 Christ is a name for Jesus in the Greek language that means the same as Messiah in the Hebrew language. It means someone that God chose as a special king for his people. He told them not to believe the false teachers. God would destroy the false teachers because they were so bad.
Also, Peter told the Christians to be like people who are watching carefully. They should be ready for Jesus, because he would certainly come back to the earth.
