35
1 # See 1 Sam. 15.22. He that keepeth the law multiplieth offerings;
He that taketh heed to the commandments sacrificeth #Cp. ch. 47.2. See Lev. 3.1.a peace offering.
2He that requiteth a good turn offereth #ch. 38.11. See Lev. 2.1.fine flour;
And he that giveth alms sacrificeth a thank offering.
3 # Cp. Dan. 4.27. To depart from wickedness is a thing pleasing to the Lord;
And to depart from unrighteousness is a propitiation.
4 # See Ex. 23.15. See that thou appear not in the presence of the Lord empty.
5For all these things are to be done because of the commandment.
6The offering of the righteous maketh the altar fat;
And the #ch. 38.11 & 50.15. See Gen. 8.21.sweet savour thereof is before the Most High.
7 # Cp. Heb. 11.4. The sacrifice of a righteous man is acceptable;
# Cp. ch. 39.9. And the memorial thereof shall not be forgotten.
8Glorify the Lord #ver. 10.with a good eye,
And #See Prov. 3.9.stint not the firstfruits of thine hands.
9 # Cp. 2 Cor. 9.7. In every gift shew a cheerful countenance,
And dedicate thy tithe with gladness.
10 # ch. 14.11. See Tob. 4.8. Give unto the Most High according as he hath given;
And as thy hand hath found, give #ver. 8.with a good eye.

12THINK not to corrupt with gifts; for he will not receive them:
And set not thy mind on an unrighteous sacrifice;

And #See Deut. 10.17.with him is no respect of persons.
13He will not accept any person against a poor man;
And #See Ex. 22.23.he will listen to the prayer of him that is wronged.

Nor the widow, #35.14 Gr. if.when she poureth out her tale.
15Do not the tears of the widow run down her cheek?
And is not her cry against him that hath caused them to fall?
16He that serveth God according to his good pleasure shall be accepted,
And his supplication shall reach unto the clouds.
17The prayer of the humble #Cp. Lam. 3.44.pierceth the clouds;
And till it come nigh, he will not be comforted;
And #Cp. Gen. 32.26. & Luke 18.7.he will not depart, till the Most High shall visit;
And he shall judge #35.17 Some ancient authorities read for the righteous.righteously, and execute judgement.
18And the Lord #2 Pet. 3.9.will not be slack, #Cp. ch. 18.11.neither will he be longsuffering toward them,
Till he have #Cp. Deut. 33.11.crushed the loins of the unmerciful;
And he shall repay vengeance to the heathen;
Till he have taken away the multitude of the haughty,
And #Is. 14.5.broken in pieces the sceptres of the unrighteous;

And to the works of men according to their devices;
Till he have judged the cause of his people;
