God’s Care for the Earth
For the choir director. A psalm of David. A song.
1Praise is rightfully yours,#65:1 Or Praise is silence to you, or Praise awaits you
God, in Zion;
vows to you will be fulfilled.#Ps 50:14; 116:18
2All humanity will come to you,
the one who hears prayer.#Ps 86:9; Is 2:2–4; 66:23
3Iniquities overwhelm me;
only you can atone for our rebellions.#Ps 38:14; 40:12; 79:9
4How happy is the one you choose
and bring near to live in your courts!
We will be satisfied with the goodness of your house,#Ps 17:15; Jr 31:14
the holiness of your temple.#65:4 Or house, your holy temple#Ps 27:4; 84:4
5You answer us in righteousness,
with awe-inspiring works,
God of our salvation,
the hope of all the ends of the earth
and of the distant seas.#Dt 10:21; 2Sm 7:23; Ps 46:8
6You establish the mountains by your power;
you are robed with strength.#Ps 93:1; Am 4:13
7You silence the roar of the seas,
the roar of their waves,
and the tumult of the nations.#Ps 107:29; Is 17:13; Mt 8:26
8Those who live far away are awed by your signs;
you make east and west shout for joy.#Ps 2:8; 139:9; Is 24:16
9You visit the earth and water it abundantly,
enriching it greatly.
God’s stream is filled with water,
for you prepare the earth in this way,
providing people with grain.#Ps 104:13; 147:8; Is 45:8
10You soften it with showers and bless its growth,
soaking its furrows and leveling its ridges.#Dt 3:22; Ps 72:6; 147:8
11You crown the year with your goodness;

12The wilderness pastures overflow,

13The pastures are clothed with flocks

They shout in triumph; indeed, they sing.#Is 44:23
