Festival of Trumpets Offerings
1“You are to hold a sacred assembly in the seventh month, on the first day of the month, and you are not to do any daily work. # 29:1 Ex 12:16 This will be a day of trumpet blasts for you. # 29:1 Lv 23:23–25 2Offer a burnt offering as a pleasing aroma to the Lord: one young bull, one ram, seven male lambs a year old — all unblemished — 3with their grain offering of fine flour mixed with oil, six quarts # 29:3 Lit three-tenths (of an ephah), also in vv. 9,14 with the bull, four quarts # 29:3 Lit two-tenths (of an ephah), also in vv. 9,14 with the ram, 4and two quarts # 29:4 Lit one-tenth (of an ephah), also in vv. 10,15 with each of the seven male lambs. 5Also offer one male goat as a sin offering to make atonement for yourselves. 6These are in addition to the monthly and regular burnt offerings with their prescribed grain offerings and drink offerings. They are a pleasing aroma, a food offering to the Lord.
Offerings for the Day of Atonement
7“You are to hold a sacred assembly on the tenth day of this seventh month and practice self-denial; # 29:7 Lv 23:27–28 do not do any work. 8Present a burnt offering to the Lord, a pleasing aroma: one young bull, one ram, and seven male lambs a year old. All your animals are to be unblemished. 9Their grain offering is to be of fine flour mixed with oil, six quarts with the bull, four quarts with the ram, 10and two quarts with each of the seven lambs. 11Offer one male goat for a sin offering. The regular burnt offering with its grain offering and drink offerings are in addition to the sin offering of atonement.
Offerings for the Festival of Shelters
12“You are to hold a sacred assembly on the fifteenth day of the seventh month; # 29:12 Lv 23:34–35 you do not do any daily work. You are to celebrate a seven-day festival for the Lord. 13Present a burnt offering, a food offering, a pleasing aroma to the Lord: thirteen young bulls, two rams, and fourteen male lambs a year old. They are to be unblemished. 14Their grain offering is to be of fine flour mixed with oil, six quarts with each of the thirteen bulls, four quarts with each of the two rams, 15and two quarts with each of the fourteen lambs. 16Also offer one male goat as a sin offering. These are in addition to the regular burnt offering with its grain and drink offerings.
17“On the second day present twelve young bulls, two rams, and fourteen male lambs a year old — all unblemished — 18with their grain and drink offerings # 29:18 Nm 15:1–12 for the bulls, rams, and lambs, in proportion to their number. 19Also offer one male goat as a sin offering. These are in addition to the regular burnt offering with its grain and drink and their drink offerings.
20“On the third day present eleven bulls, two rams, fourteen male lambs a year old — all unblemished — 21with their grain and drink offerings for the bulls, rams, and lambs, in proportion to their number. 22Also offer one male goat as a sin offering. These are in addition to the regular burnt offering with its grain and drink offerings.
23“On the fourth day present ten bulls, two rams, fourteen male lambs a year old — all unblemished — 24with their grain and drink offerings for the bulls, rams, and lambs, in proportion to their number. 25Also offer one male goat as a sin offering. These are in addition to the regular burnt offering with its grain and drink offerings.
26“On the fifth day present nine bulls, two rams, fourteen male lambs a year old — all unblemished — 27with their grain and drink offerings for the bulls, rams, and lambs, in proportion to their number. 28Also offer one male goat as a sin offering. These are in addition to the regular burnt offering with its grain and drink offerings.
29“On the sixth day present eight bulls, two rams, fourteen male lambs a year old — all unblemished — 30with their grain and drink offerings for the bulls, rams, and lambs, in proportion to their number. 31Also offer one male goat as a sin offering. These are in addition to the regular burnt offering with its grain and drink offerings.
32“On the seventh day present seven bulls, two rams, and fourteen male lambs a year old — all unblemished — 33with their grain and drink offerings for the bulls, rams, and lambs, in proportion to their number. 34Also offer one male goat as a sin offering. These are in addition to the regular burnt offering with its grain and drink offerings.
35“On the eighth day you are to hold a solemn assembly; you are not to do any daily work. # 29:35 Ex 12:16; Lv 23:36 36Present a burnt offering, a food offering, a pleasing aroma to the Lord: one bull, one ram, seven male lambs a year old — all unblemished — 37with their grain and drink offerings for the bulls, rams, and lambs, in proportion to their number. 38Also offer one male goat as a sin offering. These are in addition to the regular burnt offering with its grain and drink offerings.
39“Offer these to the Lord at your appointed times in addition to your vow and freewill offerings, whether burnt, grain, drink, or fellowship offerings.” 40So Moses told the Israelites everything the Lord had commanded him.

The sacrifices at the Festival of Trumpets
(Leviticus 23.23-25)
The LORD said:
1On the first day of the seventh month,#29.1 seventh month: Tishri (also called Ethanim), the seventh month of the Hebrew calendar, from about mid-September to mid-October. you must rest from your work and come together to celebrate at the sound of the trumpets. 2Bring to the altar one bull, one full-grown ram, and seven rams a year old that have nothing wrong with them. And then offer these as sacrifices to please me.#29.2 sacrifices to please me: See the note at 6.11. 3Three kilogrammes of your finest flour mixed with olive oil must be offered with the bull as a grain sacrifice. Two kilogrammes of flour mixed with oil must be offered with the ram, 4and one kilogramme of flour mixed with oil must be offered with each of the young rams. 5You must also offer a goat#29.5 goat: See the note at 7.12-83. as a sacrifice for sin. 6These sacrifices will be made in addition to the regular daily sacrifices#29.6 regular daily sacrifices: See 28.1-8. and the sacrifices for the first day of the month.#29.6 sacrifices…month: See 28.11-15. The smoke from these sacrifices will please me.
The sacrifices on the Great Day of Forgiveness
(Leviticus 23.26-32)
The LORD said:
7The tenth day of the seventh month#29.7 seventh month: See the note at 29.1. is the Great Day of Forgiveness.#29.7 Great Day of Forgiveness: Traditionally known as the Day of Atonement. On that day you must rest from all work and come together for worship. Show sorrow for your sins by going without food,#Lv 16.29-34. 8and bring to the altar one young bull, one full-grown ram, and seven rams a year old that have nothing wrong with them. Then offer these as sacrifices to please me.#29.8 sacrifices to please me: See the note at 6.11. 9Three kilogrammes of your finest flour mixed with olive oil must be offered with the bull as a grain sacrifice. Two kilogrammes of flour mixed with oil must be offered with the ram, 10and one kilogramme of flour mixed with oil must be offered with each of the young rams. 11A goat#29.11 goat: See the note at 7.12-83. must also be sacrificed for the sins of the people. You will offer these sacrifices in addition to the sacrifice to ask forgiveness and the regular daily sacrifices.#29.11 regular daily sacrifices: See 28.1-8.
The sacrifices during the Festival of Shelters
(Leviticus 23.33-44)
The LORD said:
12Beginning on the fifteenth day of the seventh month#29.12 seventh month: See the note at 29.1. and continuing for seven days, everyone must celebrate the Festival of Shelters in honour of me.#Lv 23.34; Dt 16.13-15.
13On the first day, you must rest from your work and come together for worship. Bring to the altar thirteen bulls, two full-grown rams, and fourteen rams a year old that have nothing wrong with them. Then offer these as sacrifices to please me.#29.13 sacrifices to please me: See the note at 6.11. 14Three kilogrammes of your finest flour mixed with olive oil must be offered with each bull as a grain sacrifice. Two kilogrammes of flour mixed with oil must be offered with each of the rams, 15and one kilogramme of flour mixed with oil must be offered with each of the young rams. 16You must also offer a goat#29.16 goat: See the note at 7.12-83. as a sacrifice for sin. These are to be offered in addition to the regular daily sacrifices.#29.16 regular daily sacrifices: See 28.1-8.
17-34For the next six days of the festival, you will sacrifice one less bull than the day before, so that on the seventh day, seven bulls will be sacrificed. The other sacrifices and offerings must remain the same for each of these days.
35On the eighth day, you must once again rest from your work and come together for worship. 36Bring to the altar one bull, one full-grown ram, and seven rams a year old that have nothing wrong with them. Then offer these as sacrifices to please me. 37You must also offer the proper grain sacrifices and drink offerings of wine with each animal. 38And offer a goat#29.38 goat: See the note at 7.12-83. as the sacrifice to ask forgiveness for the people. These sacrifices are made in addition to the regular daily sacrifices.#29.38 regular daily sacrifices: See 28.1-8.
39You must offer all these sacrifices to me at the appointed times of worship, together with any offerings that are voluntarily given or given because of a promise.
40Moses told the people of Israel everything the LORD had told him about the sacrifices.
