To the church of the Thessalonians # 1:1 Ac 17:1 in God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
2Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
God’s Judgment and Glory
3We ought to thank God always for you, brothers and sisters, and rightly so, since your faith is flourishing and the love # 1:3 1Co 13:1; 1Jn 4:16 each one of you has for one another # 1:3 Php 2:2 is increasing. # 1:3 1Th 4:10 4Therefore, we ourselves boast # 1:4 2Co 12:5 about you among God’s churches — about your perseverance and faith in all the persecutions and afflictions that you are enduring. 5It is clear evidence of God’s righteous # 1:5 1Jn 1:9 judgment # 1:5 Mt 12:41; Jn 5:22,27,30; 8:16; 16:11; Heb 9:27; Jms 2:13; 2Pt 3:7; Rv 14:7; 16:7; 19:2 that you will be counted worthy of God’s kingdom, for which you also are suffering, # 1:5 Php 1:29 6since it is just for God to repay with affliction those who afflict you 7and to give relief to you who are afflicted, along with us. This will take place at the revelation of the Lord Jesus from heaven with his powerful angels, 8when he takes vengeance with flaming fire # 1:8 1Co 3:13; Heb 10:27; 12:29; 2Pt 3:7; Rv 14:10 on those who don’t know God # 1:8 Ps 79:6; Is 66:15; Jr 10:25 and on those who don’t obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. # 1:8 1Pt 4:17 9They will pay the penalty of eternal destruction # 1:9 1Tm 6:9 from the Lord’s presence # 1:9 Gn 4:14 and from his glorious strength # 1:9 Is 2:10,19,21 10on that day when he comes # 1:10 Mk 8:38 to be glorified # 1:10 Jn 17:10; Rm 8:17 by his saints # 1:10 Eph 5:3; 6:18 and to be marveled at by all those who have believed, because our testimony among you was believed. 11In view of this, we always pray for you that our God will make you worthy of his calling, # 1:11 Eph 4:1; Col 3:15 and by his power fulfill your every desire to do good # 1:11 Or power bring to fruition your desire to do good and your work produced by faith, # 1:11 Gl 2:16; 1Th 1:3 12so that the name # 1:12 Jn 14:13; Ac 3:16; 15:14; Php 2:10 of our Lord Jesus will be glorified # 1:12 Is 24:15; 49:3; 66:5; Mal 1:11; 2Co 8:23 by you, and you by him, # 1:12 Jn 13:31 according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.

To the Kehillah of the inhabitants of the city of Thessalonika, the Kehillah in Hashem, in Elohim Avinu and Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach Yehoshua Adoneinu,
2Chen v'Chesed Hashem to you and Shalom from Elohim Avinu and Rebbe Melech HaMoshiach Yehoshua Adoneinu.
3With continuous hodayah (thanksgiving) we ought to make brachot to Hashem concerning you, Achim b'Moshiach, as is fitting, because your emunah is increasing abundantly and the ahavah (agape) every one of you has for the other is growing. 4Therefore, we ourselves glory in you in all the kehillot of Hashem for your zitzfleisch (patience) and emunah in all the redifot (persecutions) and the tzoros you are enduring.
5This is kluhr (obvious) that here is a manifest siman (sign, indication) of the yashar mishpat (righteous judgment) of Hashem intended for you to be deemed worthy of the Malchut Hashem, on behalf of which also you undergo#1:5 Chevlei Moshiach yissurim. 6Indeed it is tzaddik (a thing examined and found to be right) for Hashem to repay with tzarah (tribulation) those who bring tzarah (tribulation) on you, 7And to recompense you, the ones suffering tzarah (tribulation), with revachah (relief) along with us at the Apocalypse of [Moshiach] Yehoshua Adoneinu from Shomayim with the malachim of his oz (power) 8BELAHAVEI EISH#1:8 Isa 66:15 (in flaming fire), giving Onesh to the ones not knowing Hashem and to the ones not obeying the Besuras HaGeulah of [Moshiach] Yehoshua Adoneinu. 9These are the ones who will pay an Onesh of Avaddon Olam (Eternal Destruction)#1:9 Gehinnom away from the Shekhinah of Hashem UMEHADAR GE'ONO#1:9 Isa 2:19 (and from the splendor of his majesty), 10When He comes to be glorified among His Kedoshim and to be marveled at among all the ma'aminim#1:10 in Moshiach in YOM HAHU#1:10 Isa 2:11 (that Day), because our [martyrʼs] eidus#1:10 The word can mean witness al kiddush ha-Shem to you was believed. 11To this end also we make tefillos always concerning you that Eloheinu may count you worthy of the Kri'ah (Calling) and by His gevurah may fulfill every chafetz hatov (good desire) and ma'aseh haemunah (work of faith), 12In order that ha-Shem (the Name) of [Moshiach] Adoneinu Yehoshua may be glorified in you, and you, in him,#1:12 Moshiach according to the unmerited Chen v'Chesed of Eloheinu and Moshiach Yehoshua Adoneinu.
