Great are the works of the LORD, Studied by all those who delight in them. Splendid and majestic is His work, And His righteousness endures forever. He has made His wonderful acts to be remembered; The LORD is gracious and merciful and full of loving compassion. He has given food to those who fear Him [with awe-inspired reverence]; He will remember His covenant forever. [Deut 10:12; Ps 96:9] He has declared and made known to His people the power of His works, In giving them the heritage of the nations. ¶The works of His hands are truth and [absolute] justice; All His precepts are sure (established, reliable, trustworthy). They are upheld forever and ever; They are done in [absolute] truth and uprightness. He has sent redemption to His people; He has ordained His covenant forever; Holy and awesome is His name—[inspiring reverence and godly fear]. The [reverent] fear of the LORD is the beginning (the prerequisite, the absolute essential, the alphabet) of wisdom; A good understanding and a teachable heart are possessed by all those who do the will of the LORD; His praise endures forever. [Job 28:28; Prov 1:7; Matt 22:37, 38; Rev 14:7]

Worship is central to the Christian life. Here is a reflection on what it means to hold fast to faith in the midst of life’s trials...a message that inspires Christians to connect the dots between singing the song and living the life. Based on Matt Redman's new book 10,000 Reasons.

This 5-day reading plan will remind readers that God is only ever a prayer away and will encourage them to remember that He is always by their side. Each day features thoughts about God’s presence in their everyday lives, and ends with a prayer. The content for this reading plan is based on Nina Smit’s book “God Is Close to You”.

Do worry and fear overwhelm your days or seem to control your life? Learn what Jesus says about worry in the Sermon on the Mount and elsewhere. Part seven of eight in the "Jesus, I Want to Love You" Series. The plans in this series can be done in any order. See also "Jesus, I Want to Love You" (companion prayer).
Discipleship works against fear. As we obey God’s commands, we entrust ourselves to him. Like the students attending the schools founded by D. L. Moody in Northfield, MA, God’s people “are encouraged to test the meaning and value of the Bible’s teachings experimentally, by acting upon them, and living them out.” As we “test experimentally” the word of God, we will find that we will have fewer and fewer reasons to be afraid.
