2Pedro 2:16

Shortly after writing his first letter, Peter hears word of false teaching spreading amongst the churches in Asia Minor. The letter focuses on combating false teachers and encouraging believers to grow in spiritual maturity by studying the Scriptures. Second Peter reminds us to be diligent in confirming our calling by cultivating Christ-likeness in all aspects of our lives.

This plan studies the second half of chapter two of Peter’s second epistle, where he warns the Church, those who walked closely with Christ, against false teachers. Peter lays out a series of warnings: warnings of deception, demise, and defeat. Jesus asked Peter to tend to His sheep. Peter does that here by saying, “Don’t be fooled. Be on the alert!”

Donkeys might not seem like spiritual mentors, but in the Bible, God used them to teach us lessons. This 3-day devotional will guide you through three unique Bible stories involving donkeys. Each one contains a different lesson about hearing God’s voice, following His lead, and remembering that it’s not about us—it’s all about Jesus. Can God use even a donkey to speak truth into your life? Absolutely. So open your heart—and maybe get ready to say “Amen” or even “Hee-Haw!”

Imagine yourself walking hand in hand with the Lord, focusing on the salvation Jesus has purchased for you in the cross and the righteousness that you partake with Him as His child. This reading plan will help you reflect on His goodness and to desire more of Him so you can be more like Him.
