2 Timothy (2 Ti) 1
1
1From: Sha’ul, an emissary of the Messiah Yeshua by God’s will, which holds forth a promise of life through being united with Messiah Yeshua
2To: Timothy, my dear son:
Grace, mercy and shalom from God the Father and the Messiah Yeshua, our Lord.
3I give thanks to God, whom, like my forbears, I worship with a clean conscience, as I regularly remember you in my prayers night and day. 4I am reminded of your tears, and I long to see you, so that I might be filled with joy. 5I recall your sincere trust, the same trust that your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice had first; and I am convinced that you too now have this trust.
6For this reason, I am reminding you to fan the flame of God’s gift, which you received through s’mikhah from me. 7For God gave us a Spirit who produces not timidity, but power, love and self-discipline. 8So don’t be ashamed of bearing testimony to our Lord or to me, his prisoner. On the contrary, accept your share in suffering disgrace for the sake of the Good News. God will give you the strength for it, 9since he delivered us and called us to a life of holiness as his people. It was not because of our deeds, but because of his own purpose and the grace which he gave to us who are united with the Messiah Yeshua. He did this before the beginning of time, 10but made it public only now through the appearing of our Deliverer, the Messiah Yeshua, who abolished death and, through the Good News, revealed life and immortality.
11It was for this Good News that I was appointed a proclaimer, emissary and teacher of the Goyim; 12and this is why I suffer as I do. But I am not ashamed, because I know him in whom I have put my trust, and I am persuaded that he can keep safe until that Day what he has entrusted to me. 13Follow the pattern of the sound teachings you have heard from me, with trust and the love which is yours in the Messiah Yeshua. 14Keep safe the great treasure that has been entrusted to you, with the help of the Ruach HaKodesh, who lives in us.
15You know that everyone in the province of Asia turned away from me, including Phygelus and Ermogenes. 16May the Lord show mercy to the household of Onesiphorus, because he was often a comfort to me and was not ashamed of my being in prison. 17On the contrary, when he came to Rome, he diligently searched for me and found me. 18May the Lord grant it to him to find mercy from Adonai on that Day. And you know very well how much he helped me in Ephesus.

1Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ, through the will of God, according to a promise of life that [is] in Christ Jesus,
2to Timotheus, beloved child: Grace, kindness, peace, from God the Father, and Christ Jesus our Lord!
3I am thankful to God, whom I serve from progenitors in a pure conscience, that unceasingly I have remembrance concerning thee in my supplications night and day,
4desiring greatly to see thee, being mindful of thy tears, that with joy I may be filled,
5taking remembrance of the unfeigned faith that is in thee, that dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice, and I am persuaded that also in thee.
6For which cause I remind thee to stir up the gift of God that is in thee through the putting on of my hands,
7for God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind;
8therefore thou mayest not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner, but do thou suffer evil along with the good news according to the power of God,
9who did save us, and did call with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace, that was given to us in Christ Jesus, before the times of the ages,
10and was made manifest now through the manifestation of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who indeed did abolish death, and did enlighten life and immortality through the good news,
11to which I was placed a preacher and an apostle, and a teacher of nations,
12for which cause also these things I suffer, but I am not ashamed, for I have known in whom I have believed, and have been persuaded that he is able that which I have committed to him to guard — to that day.
13The pattern hold thou of sound words, which from me thou didst hear, in faith and love that [is] in Christ Jesus;
14the good thing committed guard thou through the Holy Spirit that is dwelling in us;
15thou hast known this, that they did turn from me — all those in Asia, of whom are Phygellus and Hermogenes;
16may the Lord give kindness to the house of Onesiphorus, because many times he did refresh me, and of my chain was not ashamed,
17but being in Rome, very diligently he sought me, and found;
18may the Lord give to him to find kindness from the Lord in that day; and how many things in Ephesus he did minister thou dost very well know.
