Psalms 62

62
For the Music Director. According to Jeduthun. A Psalm of David.
1For God alone my soul silently waits; # Ps 33:20; 37:7
from Him comes my salvation.
2He alone is my rock and my salvation; # Ps 18:2
He is my refuge; # Ps 59:17 I shall not be greatly shaken.
3How long will you assault a man?
So you can murder all of you,
like a leaning wall and a tottering fence.
4They only conspire to cast him down
from his high position;
they delight in lies,
they bless with their mouth,
but they curse inwardly. # Ps 28:3; 55:21    Selah
5My soul, wait in silence for God alone,
for my expectation is from Him.
6He alone is my rock and my salvation;
He is my defense; I shall not be moved. # Ps 62:2
7On God rests my salvation and my glory;
the rock of my strength, my refuge is in God. # Jer 3:23
8Trust in Him at all times, O people;
pour out your heart before Him; # 1Sa 1:15; Ps 42:4
God is a refuge for us.   Selah
9Surely men of low degree are but a vapor; # Ps 39:5
men of high degree are a lie;
in the balances they go up; # Isa 40:15
they are together lighter than vapor.
10Trust not in oppression;
put no vain hope in robbery;
if riches increase,
set not your heart on them. # Ps 52:7; Isa 30:12
11God has spoken once;
twice have I heard this: # Job 33:14; 40:5
that power belongs to God.
12Also to You, O Lord, belongs mercy. # Ps 103:8
For You render to every man
according to his work. # Job 34:11; Ro 2:6; 2Co 5:10; Rev 22:12
