For the Music Director. With stringed instruments. A Contemplative Maskil of David, when the Ziphites went and told Saul, “Is David not hiding among us?”
1Save me, O God, by Your name, # Ps 20:1
and vindicate me by Your strength.
2Hear my prayer, O God;
give ear to the words of my mouth.
3For strangers have risen against me,
and oppressors seek my life;
they do not set God before them. # Ps 36:1; 86:14 Selah
4Behold, God is my helper;
the Lord is with those who uphold my life. # Isa 41:10
5He will repay my enemies for their evil.
In Your faithfulness, destroy them. # Ps 89:49; 143:12
6I will sacrifice a freewill offering to You; # Ps 116:17
I will give thanks to Your name, O Lord, for it is good. # Ps 52:9
7For He has delivered me from every trouble,
and my eye has looked in triumph on my enemies. # Ps 59:10; 92:11
