For the Music Director. A Psalm of the sons of Korah.
1Clap your hands, all you people!
Shout to God with a joyful voice.
2#Ps 63:1; 84:2 For the Lord Most High is awesome;
He is a great King over all the earth.
3#Ps 79:10; 80:5 He subdued peoples under us,
and nations under our feet.
4#Isa 30:29; Ps 62:8 He chose our inheritance for us,
the excellency of Jacob whom He loved. Selah
5#Ps 42:11; 43:5 God went up with a shout,
the Lord with the sound of a trumpet.
6#2Sa 17:22; Dt 3:8–9 Sing praises to God, sing praises;
sing praises to our King, sing praises.
7#Ps 88:7; Jnh 2:3 For God is the King of all the earth;
sing praises with understanding.
8#Job 35:10; Ps 63:6 God reigns over the nations;
God sits on His holy throne.
9#Ps 38:6; 18:2 The princes of peoples are gathered together,
even the people of the God of Abraham.
For the shields of the earth belong to God;
He is greatly exalted.
