32
A Psalm of David. A Contemplative Maskil.

whose transgression is forgiven,
whose sin is covered. # Ps 85:2; Ro 4:6–8
2Blessed is the man
against whom the Lord imputes no iniquity,
and in whose spirit there is no deceit. # Jn 1:47
3When I kept silent,
my body wasted away
through my groaning all day long. # Ps 22:1; 38:8
4For day and night
Your hand was heavy upon me; # 1Sa 5:11; Job 33:7
my strength was turned
into the drought of summer.   Selah
5I acknowledged my sin to You, # Ps 38:18; Pr 28:13
and my iniquity I did not conceal.
I said, “I will confess
my transgressions to the Lord,”
and You forgave
the iniquity of my sin.   Selah
6For this cause everyone who is godly will pray to You
in a time when You may be found; # Isa 55:6
surely in the flood of great waters,
they shall not reach him. # Isa 43:2
7You are my hiding place;
You will preserve me from trouble; # Ps 9:9
You will surround me with songs of deliverance. # Ex 15:1; Jdg 5:1    Selah
8I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;
I will counsel you with my eye upon you. # Ps 33:18
9Do not be like the horse or like the mule,
which have no understanding, # Job 35:11
which must be restrained with bit and bridle, # Pr 26:3
or they will not come near you.
10Many are the sorrows of the wicked, # Pr 13:21
but lovingkindness will surround
the man who trusts in the Lord. # Pr 16:20
11Be glad in the Lord and rejoice, you righteous ones; # Ps 68:3; 97:12
and shout for joy, all you who are upright in heart! # Ps 64:10
